Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

A Wrinkle in Mind

For every minute you remain angry,
you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
A wrinkle mind....
Steamed?
Focused on life's wrinkles?
Shake it out!
Shake it off!
let it go
Or iron it out
Who wants to be seen in a wrinkled mind?
and that's poetiquejustis
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Romans 12:2

View from the Top of the Molehill...

One way to get high blood pressure
is to go mountain climbing over molehills.
                                                                    Earl Wilson

There are people who can turn a bowl of cold cereal
in to a three act play
everything is a crisis
a struggle
They are always heading in to the wind

In 55 AD, the Roman historian Tacitus said:
We see many who are struggling against adversity who are happy,
and more although abounding in wealth, who are wretched.

Knowing the difference makes all the difference

and that's poetiquejustis
“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

The Race is Won Along the Way

People must help one another;
 it is nature's law.
Jean de La Fontaine

The race is on

People  trying to get from here to there

Try to reach a lofty goal

or just making it through the day

If you are the one to help others on their way
Your race is already won

and that is poetiquejustis

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run,
but only one gets the prize?
Run in such a way as to get the prize.
1 Corinthians 9:24

and the music filled the night

A people must have dignity and identity.
Andrew Goodman

A cold and windy night near Union Square in San Francisco

The streets were almost empty

The sound: A street musician playing his clarinet and "Greensleeves" pushes it way through the air; turning the corners; rising to touch the buildings that scrape the sky; and surrounding me like a cloak

The soundtrack of a San Francisco night
as he handled the music with dignity and accepted tips
as though he were playing at the Top of the Mark.

The sight: a man deep in a doorway keeps his back to me.
 He makes his newspaper bed
with care
lining his shoes neatly  next to his bed,

he gets ready to meet the night on the streets with dignity

the music
filled the night
and the sight followed me back
to my fancy hotel

and I could not sleep
with dignity
and that's poetiquejustis
He who shuts his ears to the cries of the poor will be ignored in his own time of need.
 Proverbs 21:13

Every Little Thing....

You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.
 C S Lewis

Things to do:

Things to be

Things to know

Things things things

Time to breathe

Time to love

Time to dream

Life   Life  Life

Things are not life
That's the thing about life....
There are some things you just have to put aside now and then
to be alive

Shakespeare said:
There is a place and a means for every man alive

Go...find it today
and don't let any thing get in your way
and that's poetiquejustis
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  Matthew 6:25

Potentially

One isn't necessarily born with courage,
but one is born with potential
Maya Angelou

Potential...a word from the late 14th century and comes from the root of the words for "possible" and "power"

Potential is not something you live up TO

It is something you are filled up WITH

It is all that power and strength and drive you have under the hood!

so step on it!

because today....

Everything is possible for him who believes.
Mark 9:23

Stuck!

Consider the postage stamp:
its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there.
~Josh Billings

You can lose your keys

You can lose your way

You can lose your focus

You can lose your appetite

But whatever you do -
do not lose heart!
that's right...it is all about hanging in there!

and that's poetiquejustis

Is This Really Necessary?

If we do what is necessary, all the odds are in our favor.
 Charles Buxton

I have a lot to do, so I have been thinking about doing what is necessary

It comes from the Latin neccesarious:  unavoidable, indispensable

But what makes it "unavoidable, indispensable"?
How do you define "necessary"?

Doing what is necessary to pay the bills?
Doing what is necessary to get the job done?
 To live a balanced life?
Is all that necessary?
Oh, dear...I believe it is.....
Winston Churchill said:
"It is no use saying, 'We are doing our best.'
You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary".

Living life well....seems it is a necessity
and that's poetiquejustis

But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way. I Corinthians 14:40
