Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

The Wright Stuff

"If birds can glide for long periods of time, then… why can’t I ?”
Orville Wright

Beginning the journey

Liftoff- when your wings are filled with the wind of the unknown

But then there comes  the troubled air

And the through the stormy night
Then it takes more

I takes Tenacity and persistence

Until you reach the other side
and you know you have arrived
and that's poetiquejustis

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
                                                                            Galatians 6:9

Staying Alive or Living to Thrive

We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man.
The Bee Gees

While the Bee Gees were lying around a recording studio in France
jotting down these words for a new disco movie
I wonder if they were just rhyming or they really got it

Because those words- unlike most Bee Gee lyrics

Rocked my world

The headlines

The Crescendo of the NBC news theme
coincidentally written by a five time Grammy Winner John Williams

The blaring sight of CNN's logo
 I run for cover

I protect my soul

I know the effect of the New York Times
and I am staying alive
and that's poetiquejustis

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people"
Luke 10

A Place to Be

We have a home...we just need someplace to put it
Anonymous

I am not homeless- far from it

but I am without a home

I have a place to live that is amazing
With spas, and pools, and lakes and trees right outside of my door
But it is not mine- and it is not terribly big

And so my mother's china

And my crates of books

Languish is  a storage unit

Incarcerated through no fault of their own

But  I cringe at the thought of my complaining

Because my books and china at least have shelter

While too many of my fellow Americans do not- through no fault of their own-

and I am ashamed
and that's poetiquejustis
How Many Homeless kids in the United States?
 The King will reply,

'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me'
Matthew 25:40

I did what Johnny Depp Would Never Do...and I did it well

The quality of life is so different in France.
There is the possibility of living a simple life.
I would never contemplate raising my daughter in LA.
I would never raise any child there.
Johnny Depp
Well, I did, Johnny

I raised my kids in LA

Among the noise

And the hype

And the complexity of it all

Yes...I raised my kids in LA

Along the beaches

Above the canyons

Among the people
It was really very simple
At least as simple as raising children any where is
and my kids are magnificent
You chose France

I chose LA

It is as simple as that
and that's poetiquejustis

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I live between the words

Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.
Francis of Assisi

My words

Your words

There is a gulf between what I say
And what I mean to say

Between what you say
And what I hear

But the words are connected by  love

And so
I live  between the words

and that's poetiquejustis
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.
For fear has to do with punishment,
and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1 John 4:18

Managing the Imagination- unimagineable!

We're all seeking order. We're all seeking control.
Michael Connelly

Organize

Alphabetize

Systematize

Categorize

But try as you will

But you cannot control it all

And really- do you want to?
Or shall we leave a little room for
serendipity?
and that's poetiquejustis
"Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.
Isaiah 65:17

Has anyone seen my hope?

Hope is some extraordinary spiritual grace that God gives us to control our fears,
 not to oust them.
Vincent McNabb
The well of life seems dry
The ground up  which I walk is parched
I search for what is missing
In the rush of life I have discarded something that keeps me vital
What is it?
Inventory
I still have faith
I still have love
Hope!  Where is my hope?
Without hope, there is far too much room for the doubt and the fear
 I reach for hope

Hope returns
Life goes on
and that's poetiquejustis

If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
1Corinthians 15:19
