Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

A Little of This..A Little of That...

It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

A single rose

A friendly smile

Someone to walk with you

That extra mile

A setting sun

An ice cream cone

Feeling that you are not alone

After the glitter and the glamor chatter

You know it is the little things that really matter
and that's poetiquejustis
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33

Elevator Friends

The language of friendship is not words but meanings.
Henry David Thoreau

People who lives in apartments make special kind of friends
Those people you share a moment with
on your way to your car or heading home at the end of the day
In the brief journey between floors,
during the daily ups and downs
you  make  elevator friends
You share a laugh, a sigh, and the name of your favorite pizza place
you know...."elevator friends"

It always reminded me of the friends you have who see you through the highs and lows

The ups and downs in life

You know- elevator friends

and that's poetiquejustis!

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Romans 12:15

A Brush with Life

The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude
Nietzsche

You are the artist of your day
Be grateful
Your will paint your world in hues of rose and sunshine

Or streak your sky with grey
You have a choice
Be grateful

You can mold the day in to a thing of beauty
sketch your hours

Life is art, you are the artist
be grateful!
and that's poetiquejustis
And whatever you do, in word or deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17

Hook, Line and Thinker!

What happens to me when I'm provoked is that I get tongue-tied and my mind goes blank.
Kathleen in You've Got Mail

Ah... how I envy Kathleen
Blessedly at  a loss for words!

When I am provoked, my mind fills up

like a lagoon at high tide,
leaving only little islands of higher ground to which I wish I would flee!
When am I going to get it?

If someone throws a line
and you take the bait
 you are cooked!

But let it go by...maybe even throw in a kind word
and you both live to swim another day
and that's poetiquejustis
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
1 Corinthians 13:5

Gravitas

To those on the ground, take a message back for me
Tell them how I am
Defying gravity
from Wicked

The gravity of the situation

Those grave and weighty matters

That keep us down

That press us down

That keeps our vision at ground - down level where oddly enough those things can never be changed

There are times that you just have to defy gravity
Give the grave, the weighty, the ponderous a smile

And keep smiling
until it lets you go!
and that's poetiquejustis
Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart,
for God has already approved what you do.
                                                                      Ecclesiastes 9:7

And now, a word from...

Don't use words too big for the subject.
C S Lewis

Have you ever noticed that the shortest phrases

carry more weight than the longest of speeches?

words like

Or

And when someone says:

and means it!

The tiniest of words can be

or balm to the heart

What a great responsibility we took on
when first we learned to speak!
Keep it short

And keep it sweet

and that's poetiquejustis

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, My God and My Redeemer
Psalm 19:14

It used to be so easy

Learning to trust is one of life's most difficult tasks.
Isaac Watts

It used to be easy to trust

But then you were hurt
and then you were hurt again

and then you did not trust any more

But are you keeping others out or locking yourself in?

Go-
Trust!

Start by trusting yourself
Golda Meir said:
"Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life."
That is a trustworthy idea
and that's poetiquejustis

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
Psalm 20:7

Dream on

Dreams don't have deadlines.
LL Cool J

" Hustle it up!"

"You are running out of time"

"You are running out of ideas!"

"Hustle it up!"

"Someone else is going to think of it first"

"Someone else is going to get there before me!"

Hustle it up."

If that sounds familiar

The you must be living another person's picture of your life

because

Your dreams have no deadlines

and that's poetiquejustis

"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy,

your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
                                                            Joel 2:28
