Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Resistance

To fly we have to have resistance
Maya Lin
 Sculptor and Architect

In order to do more than just exist

We must learn to resist

Resistance

You know resistance-

It is the force that keeps you frozen in time
instead of moving forward

It tells you to write that report tomorrow
Make that sales call another day
call that old friend another time
resistance is persistant
it will not let go
you must
resist
resistance

Resistance is a force that pulls you down like gravity

And only when you resist resistance

Are you ever going to fly

And that's poetiquejustis
...But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Inspired by The Heros of the Special Olympics

Let me win
But if I cannot win, let me be brave
Motto of the Special Olympics

Winning IS everything

As long as we define "winning" correctly

It is giving more than we get

It is not just crossing the finish line
It is being there to cheer the one who does

It is coming along side rather than getting out ahead

Winning IS everything

When you are looking for the right prize

and that's poetiquejustis

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward
call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14

A Hopeful Cause

 A strong mind always hopes
and always has cause to hope.
Thomas Carlyle

Hope

Victor Frankl tells us loss of hope
is harder to overcome than loss of the material

Hope

It is that belief of Annie's in the sun coming up

Hope

It is what gets us out of bed

It keeps us searching for answers

Keeps us believing in our dreams

Hope is the greatest gift we can give to the day

And that the day can give us in return

Hope is what I hope for you

and that's is poetiquejustis

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess for He who promises is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23

Door to Door

The doors of wisdom are never shut
Benjamin Franklin

You hold the key

You know the combination

You can throw the bolt

And ...

step out of yourself

So-what are you waiting for?
The door to the future is yours to open

That is wisdom
And that's poetiquejustis
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
Matthew 7:7

Beans!

Actions are seeds of fate
Seeds grow in to destiny
Harry S Truman

I have packet of bean seeds sitting on my work table

The directions say "soak overnight before planting"

I have yet to get around to doing that

So...all I have are these theoretical beans

Emerson said: an ounce of action is worth a ton of theory
Until I take some action- those beans remain a very inedible theory

Life can be that way...the things we are going to do
The paths we are going to take
All those things we are going to do"tomorrow"

Are you living a theoretical life?

Go!
Soak the beans!
Plant the dreams!
Put your theory in to action

and let it grow
and that's poetiquejustis

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.
Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground."
Exodus 14:15-16

It's A Whole New Ballgame

Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.
Babe Ruth

Step up to the plate

Get a grip

Make your stand

Take your swing

Follow through

Get ready for your next turn at bat

 Repeat
and that's poetiquejustis
1 Corinthians 9:24  Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.

Miracle Grow

Out of difficulties grow miracles
Jean de la Breyere

The soil may be dry and rocky

The light may be wrong

And the the weeds may be growing all around you

They can try to freeze you out

And they may even trample you under foot

But they cannot keep you from growing

If that is what you want to do
And that's Poetiquejustis

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39

Touched

If you can learn from hard knocks, you can also learn from soft touches
Carolyn Kenmore

Look around you

See someone who needs a hand?

Be that touch.

Do you see someone who can use a kind word?

Be that moment.

Step out of yourself

and you can reach the world

And you and the world will be better for that journey
And that's  poetiquejustis

But Jesus came and touched them. "Get up," he said. "Don't be afraid."
Matthew 17:7
