Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

A Love Note to Living

Write in your heart that every day is the best day of the year
Ralph Waldo Emerson
What are you waiting for?
Today is the best day you will ever have, so tell it how you feel about it!
You will never get another chance....
Until tomorrow
But tomorrow is not here
So love the day your with!

and that's poetiquejustis
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:11

Reflection

“Human beings are like dozens of ponds,
each reflecting the light from the same moon.”
 ~ Vernon Howard

How will people see the Light in your life today?

You choose whether you will be stormy

Or calm

You choose  whether you will rage

or reflect
 Your light
Your Life
Your choice
and that's poetiquejustis

The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
John 1:5

Cloudy with a Chance of a Chance

By being happy we sow anonymous benefits.
Robert Louis Stevenson

I was at an outdoor cafe waiting for a friend - the sunshine was warming my face and heart
But...
at the next table there was a woman who was sharing a litany of clouds I could not help but overhear

So...I moved to another table

Sunshine restored

Today, do what you have to do to push away the clouds

Then share the sunshine
That's a what everyone needs
and that's poetiquejustis

Say only what helps, each word a gift.
Ephesians 4:29

What's Next?

Live out your imagination
not your history
Arthur Bryan

History is great

Some of my favorite people can be found there

It's a nice place to visit

But it is not a place to live

Living takes place in your today

You are not who you were
and the world is not what it was

so
And that's poetiquejustis

Don’t ask,
“Why were things better in the old days than they are now?”
It isn’t wisdom that leads you to ask this!
Ecclesiastes 7:10

Habitual Ritual

Life never becomes a habit to me
It's always a marvel
Katherine Mansfield

There is a fast food place nearby called "The Habit"

I hear it's good

I mean- how do you argue with a fast food place that has Ahi Caesar salad?

So they kicked it up a notch....

I still protest

The name annoys me

Habit = rut= sameness

The only advantage of being in a rut is, as the author Arnold Bennet said
is that you always know where you are.

I am looking for
The Surprising!

But if I am going to have a habit

it is going to have to be called

"Something Marvelous"
Because I want to make marvelous

a habit in my life.
and that's poetiquejustis
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.

By The Side of the Road

Let me live in my house by the side of the road
and be a friend to man
Sam Walter Foss
Thoreau kept two chairs in his home at Walden Pond
One for himself and one for a guest
It is not the lack of furnishings that catches the mind
It is his thought to make room in his day for another
To leave the door ajar to the footsteps of passersby
Today-
"live by the side of the road" in your mind
and make a little room for others

That is worth more to most people than you will ever know
And that is poetiquejustis
The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.
                                                                     Proverbs 27:9

Roots and Branches

In search of my mother's garden, I found my own
Alice Walker
I could never hope to understand
how my mother's life garden grew

My worldview
was quite different than that girl born in Brooklyn and traveled the world as a Navy wife

A search for a garden of my own
A garden of thoughts
A garden of hopes
A garden of dreams
A garden of happily ever afters
And a garden of  things that were more wonderful
than I could believe
A garden  of my own
Planted with seeds from those who went before
To leave to those who will follow
That is how a garden grows from generation to generation
and that is poetiquejustis
The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
Isaiah 58:11
