Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Making Room in a Room of One's Own

I don't want to be a passenger in my own life
Doris Ackerman

I do  not want to see life through a window

I do not want to hear life through others ears

I do not want to feel life through another

I do not want to cry others tears

I want to feel life in my own way

Though I  may choose to share it with you

I want to pedal along in this journey of mine

But there is always room for two
and that's poetiquejustis

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated,
but two can stand back-to-back and conquer.
                                                                       Ecclesiastes 4:12

And On That Note

The inmost in time
becomes the outmost
R W Emerson

Your actions are the books
people read about your life

Your words are the melody
that gets stuck in their heads
Today

When you are the  author of the good

and the troubadour of peace
You do not have to be concerned about the reviews
Because you are a best seller
 and a major hit
in all the ways that matter
and that's poetiquejustis

May the words of my mouth
and the meditations of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
my Lord and my Redeemer
Psalm 19:14

Written in Stone

Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present
Jim Rohn

Today I petition myself

To look well to how I build my life

To lay each brick along the path with love

And care

and daring

Because the path I build today

Will be the road I walk tomorrow
and that's poetiquejustis
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
I Thessalonians 5:11

Life Comes in Waves

My life is like a stroll upon the beach as near
the ocean's edge as I can go.
Thoreau
Dipping a toe into a new challenge
Diving into a new experience
Taking the ride all the way
And then going back for more
That's a life with depth and motion
and that's poetiquejustis
That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,  that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3: 16-19

Making Room

Let me live in my house by the side of the road
and be a friend to man
Sam Walter Foss
Librarian, journalist, poet

Thoreau kept two chairs in his home at Walden Pond

One for himself and one for a guest

It is not the lack of furnishings that catches the mind

It is his thought to make room in his day for another

To leave the door ajar to the footsteps of passersbys

Today-

"live by the side of the road" in your mind

and make a little room for others

That is worth more to most people than you will ever know
And that is poetiquejustis
The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.
                                                                     Proverbs 27:9

Get the Idea

Ideas have come from the strangest places.

Joyce Carol Oates
They fly in from nowhere.
They leap out of darkness
They fall from the sky
They show up at your door
Ideas.

Be
for them.
Joseph Chilton Pierce said:
"We live in a web of ideas- a fabric of our own making."
And yours becomes stronger and  beautiful
with every idea
you add.
and that's poetiquejustis
I will sing a new song to You, O God
Psalm 144:9

Leaning Into the Imperfections

I like imperfections
Queen Latifah

A perfect road the holds no turns
 holds no surprises
and what is life without a few surprises

A perfect face that has no lines
perhaps has hosted too few smiles
and what is life without a thousand smiles?

Not everything that is beautiful would the world call"perfect"

Cookies from the store are perfect...all the same...all uniform...

and homemade cookies may not be

But they sure make the house smell perfectly homey while they are baking

We have learned to love some things that are not quite perfect
 let's add to the list-
so that today does not look just like yesterday.....
I wish you a perfectly imperfect day
full of the little oddities that make each day
and you
Perfectly you-nique!
and that's poetiquejustis
