Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Stepping Up

One may walk over the highest mountain
one step at a time
John Wanamaker

John Wanamaker bought an abandoned railway station
and built a department store
When no one really knew what a department store was
He found a mountain and climbed it
One step at a time
Andrew Carnegie started as a poor immigrant
who operated the telegraph
He turned his dreams in to steel
and his fortune in to libraries for the country
He climbed his mountain
one step at a time
Take a step
and then another
and then another
and before your know it
You will have reached the the other side of a mountain
that you did not even know was there
and you did it-
one step at a time.
And that's poetiquejustis

"Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them."
Mark 11:23

Melodious

You can't change the music of your soul
Katherine Hepburn
You can change your hair
You can change your name
You can even change your  car
But the melody
That makes your heart sing
Will always be
Who you really are
Today...find your melody....
It is within you
and that's poetiquejustis
Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord
Ephesians 5:19

Not for nothin'

I thrive on nothingness
Andrew Wyeth
Today, take in what's out the window
and not on a screen
Today, make space for the beauty
that the world tries to hide
so much that fills the air
Let it in
Listen
See it

 just for today
Enjoy the nothingness
That's what has been hidden behind the clamor
and that's poetiquejustis
It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:26

Are You With Me?

To pity distress is but human; to relieve it is Godlike.
Horace Mann

There is a lot of distress in the world these days

Even our jeans are distressed!

I am over it!

The sun is still shining

The waves are still rolling to shore

Morning coffee is still a delight

I am heading for higher ground

And I want to take as many people as I an
with me
That's how we rise above it
and that's poetiquejustis

You will keep in perfect peace
    those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord himself is the Rock eternal.
Isaiah 26:3-4

How It Gets Done

The important work
of moving the world forward
does not wait to be done
by perfect men
George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans)
They say it takes a village
I say it takes you
And me
And anyone else ready to show up
And do the work
That's how it gets done
And that's poetiquejustis
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27

Sensing Life

A sense of humor is just common sense dancing.
 William James

You have heard it all before:

"Wear sensible shoes"

"What's the sense?"

And you know when you have heard it?

When your senses are clouded by the common

And your heart forgets to dance.
Today, when your mind says be sensible
let your heart take over

then let it dance!
And that's poetiquejustis

Let them praise His name with dancing
Psalm 149:3

Bookish

Books

More than just the key to knowledge

They are the armchair travelers ticket to everywhere

They are the peace in the chaos

The friend you have always hoped to find

Books in binding

Books that you can hear

Books that you can read in the dark

Books that give life

To quote from a favorite author:

There are words waiting beyond your news app
Just waiting for you to find them
That's the word
and that's poetiquejustis

They read from the book, from the law of God,
translating to give the sense so that they understood the reading.
Nehemiah 8:8
