Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

The Cat's Meow

He who has a why to live
can bear almost any how
Nietzsche

I have to admit,
there are days
when my only motivation
for getting up

is that the cat
won't have it any other way

Then there are other days
where I find my purpose
in every blade of grass

There is a song in every tree
a poem in every task
But most days..
it is just the cat
whatever works...
and that works for me
and that's poetiquejustis
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12

Fancy Shmancy

In my job, I have a contract that says
I'm a singer.
 So I sing.
Tony Bennett

simple
fancy

simple

fancy

 Simple
 Fancy

Life in three plain and fancy steps
Know who you are

Be who you are

Then fancy it up any way you want

You are still simply you
and that's poetiquejustis
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
I Timothy 2:1-2

Attitudinal Atmosphere

Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude

Zig Ziglar

People make choices

Sometimes they make bad choices

You have no choice in those matters
Except to choose how you will react to those choices

Today, do not make a bad choice because of the bad choices of  others

a choice that will ruin your day and keep you down
so don't let their choices make you blue!

                                                                       It's your choice
                                                                 and that's poetiquejustis

  Finally, brothers, rejoice.
Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another,
live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
 2 Corinthians 13:11

Lightly, please

Love must be a light
as much as it is a flame
Thoreau

Love should see us through the dark times

It must be a light

Love should fuel our dreams

It must be a flame

In the words of Edna St Vincent Millay:
My candle burns at both end
It will not last the night;
but ah, my foes
and ah my friends
It gives a lovely light

and that's poetiquejustis
let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

Polar Opposities

When men are easy in their circumstances,
they are natural enemies to innovation
Joseph Addison
I hope you are enjoying life
I really do
But I hope you are not too comfortable
Oh no!   That will never do!
Too comfy to turn the corner?
Too placid to round the bend?
Too laid back to write but two more words:
Here it comes!

"The end"
Oh no!  That will never do!
Up at at 'em!
and that's poetiquejustis

Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2
A note from the author: Polar bears have been on the endangered species list since 2008

More Giving, More Living

The best you can be

The kindest you can be

The most peaceful you can be

The most generous you can be

the more life you will live

Winston Churchill said
We make a living by what we get
We make a life by what we give

So...start
 now

Are you ready?

Go!

And that's poetiquejustis
"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal"
Matthew 6:20

The Art of the Best

Economy is the art of making the most of life
George Bernard Shaw
It is not always about what you can stretch
Or what you can pinch
Or even what you can hang on to
no...sometimes it is about what you are willing to hug
What you are happy to hold
and even what you choose to let go
That is the art
That is the gift
and that's poetiquejustis
Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17

A Little Evidence of Living

It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
A single rose
A friendly smile
Someone to walk with you
That extra mile
A setting sun
An ice cream cone
Feeling that you are not alone
After the glitter and the glamor chatter
You know it is the little things that really matter
and that's poetiquejustis
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33
