Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Turning the Page

Life's given me no reason to expect the worst
Dean Koontz
The City
You are still here, right?
and the world is still turning?
You are putting one thought next to the other, right?
Forging ahead from breath to breath?
Then why that suspicious look
As you reach the place where your  today meets your tomorrow?
Just turn the page and go!

and that's poetiquejustis
Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6

Beaming

A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows
Francis of Assisi
A silent prayer
A cheerful thought
A pleasant memory or two

A whimsical plan
A moment of gratitude
All sunbeams in your day
And all there for the asking
and that's poetiquejustis
A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.
Proverbs 17:22

The Upper Limits

When we put a limit on what we will do
we put a limit on what we can  do
Charles Schwabb
If you had a dollar
for all the things you do not do because
just because those are things you
 "just don't do"
or never have
because they seem too hard
or uncomfortable
If you had a dollar for all the times you said no
to a new idea
or a new way of doing things
because it was just not how
 you have always done it
tell me
if you had a dollar for all those times you put limits on yourself
just how rich would you be?
 Perhaps more importantly:
how much richer would your life be if you had said "yes" to stretching your limits?
and that's poetiquejustis
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19

Airing Your Grievances

Trifles light as air
William Shakespeare
Those things that weigh us down
only to be resolved or forgotten tomorrow
Those things that take the precious moments of our time
only to seem silly in the light of a new day
Those trifles
Light as air
Let them go
and that's poetiquujustis
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way.
The Lord be with all of you.
2 Thessalonians 3:16

I Choose Green

The strongest principle of growth lies in human choice
George Eliot
When I woke up this morning,
I saw a message on my phone from a friend that said:
"We all live in the world we choose to live in"
Ultimately, that is true
as we create our inner reality
and then inhabit it
while hopefully making the best
of the outer circumstances
I have an asparagus fern that reminds me of that daily
That poor old guy has followed me around for many years
Getting thrown in the back of the car every time we moved
with the rest of his buddies
Sometimes he lives in sun
Sometimes he lives in shadow
But he keeps being green and makes the best of whatever light he has
Living and growing with the choices that have been made
George Moore said
The difficulty in life is the choice
Today, choose to make the best of what you have
....of who you are
Choose the light
and you will grow
and that's poetiquejustis
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12

Oh what a splendid web we weave!!

People who concentrate on one thing at a time
advance in this world
Og Magdino
I watched a spider the other day
Spinning a web
spinning, spinning, spinning
no thought for me
So singular of purpose
And yet the longer she worked at that one task
The more her network of threads grew
Imagine....
and that's poetiquejustis
One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
Psalm 27:4

That's the ticket!

Surprised by joy
C S Lewis
I made a new friend recently
We decided to meet later in the week
for coffee at our town's train depot cafe
It was fitting
She and I both were suddenly overwhelmed by the events of our lives
The travels we had taken
The bridges we had crossed
That had brought us both to this particular place and time
To do the things we needed to do
Using those things we had learned along the way
When you question the whys and the wheres of your past

Reflect on it all

and you may be surprised to see
How those moments good and bad-
 brought you to your present
                                             and will bring you to
your future
and that's poetiquejustis
God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus he has created us for a life of good deeds, which he has already prepared for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
