Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Between the Drops

The best thing about the future
is that it comes one day at a time.
Abraham Lincoln
When there is a storm
I very rarely pay attention to the torrent
I like to watch the raindrops on the window
Make their way slowly
Avoiding some drops
Joining forces with others
Moving forward without knowing where it all will  end
Single drops that  never bother to look inside the window at me
But  simply move along the path
Leaving the future
the torrent
and me
 to find our own way
I can respect that.
And that's poetiquejustis
There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain. - See more at: http://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Rain#sthash.np3199qq.dpuf

It's only weather

I have never been one to bet on the weather
Paul Getty
Whether your happy
Whether your sad
Whether you are  racing ahead
or you feel frozen in time

weather or not
whether or not
life is always up to you
and that's poetiquejustis
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
I Corinthians 10:31

Nice to meet me...again

I am part of all that I have met.
Tennyson

Every path

Every sunrise

Every sunset

Every failure

Every victory

Every moment of where I have been

Is who I am.

And tomorrow I wil be someone I have never met

Because of today.
And that's poetiquejustis
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, to bring praise to God.
Romans 15:7

Reach!

"To improve the golden opportunity
and catch the good that is within our reach
is the great art of life."  Samuel Johnson
Browning said that our reach should exceed our grasp
The funny thing about that is
Until we try
Until we extend ourselves
Until we reach deep within and far without
We have no idea what what is within our grasp!
Today- begin that journey!
And that's poetiquejustis
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Ephesians 3:20-12

To Begin With...

Dreams are renewable
Dale E. Turner
My dreams went to sleep last night

and this morning, they hid their head beneath the pillow

"Wake up", I said.

But My Dreams just burrowed deeper, not wanting to face the day unfulfilled

"Wake up", I said, and shook them gently, because I need My Dreams to carry on.

Sighing, My Dreams follow me in to the day

and the day gets busy

and I forget about my dreams

and I fall in to a slumber of work-a -day busy

And My Dreams shake me gently and say
"Wake up- we need you to carry on"
and we begin again
and that's poetiquejustis
For the light makes everything visible.
This is why it is said,
"Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light."
 Ephesians 5:14

Dribs and Drabs and Castles in the Sand

You make kingdoms and castles of your own
Stephan Jenkins
The ride to the beach was I was a kid in North Carolina
always seemed to take forever,
although it could not have been more than 30 minutes
I would clutch the pail and shovel, reveling in the smell of Coppertone my mom had already doused me in

I was ready
I was prepared
I was going to build a sandcastle that would make the beach-goers murmur in awe
We would finally arrive and lug the chairs, baskets, blankets, cooler and the other beach necessities
down to the water's edge
Mom would finally nod and say "Go...have fun!"
And I would grab my pail and shovel and head for a vacant piece of sand- my real estate
The future home of my castle!
There was something I always forgot though.
I did not know how to build a sandcastle- at least not one that would make people ooo and ahh
nope..not a chance
I could do the dump the bucket variety ...big deal...
But there was one castle that usually turned out pretty well-
the dribble castle- and that was my fallback
That splendid granular edifice  made of the dribs and drabs that oozed through your fingers
And I think it still is my fall back position!
I still do not seem to be able to build big castles in life that make people oo and ah
But we can all produce a darn good dribble castle with what we've  got
so.."go- have fun!"
and that's poetiquejustis
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
Romans 12:6

Just remember this

Life is largely a matter of expectation
Horace
I expect the sun to shine
Even if only the clouds can see it
When the seas of life are stormy
I expect that the waves are rolling gently to shore
Somewhere
I expect the day to bring joy
The night to bring peace
And the hours to bring opportunity
And I expect that I will be present to receive all of that
I expect the best of you and me
Whatever that looks like

"Every day in a life

fills the whole life

with expectations and memory.”

C S Lewis

and that's poetiquejustis

I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance
John 10:10
