Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

You Just Never Know What You Will Know!

Ideas have come from the strangest places.
Joyce Carol Oates

They fly in from nowhere.

They leap out of darkness

They fall from the sky

They show up at your door

Ideas.

Be
for them.

Joseph Chilton Pierce said:

"We live in a web of ideas- a fabric of our own making."
And yours becomes stronger and  beautiful
with every idea
you add.
and that's poetiquejustis
I will sing a new song to You, O God
Psalm 144:9

Let's Just Say...

Gentleness can only be expected from the strong.
Leo Buscaglia

Bullies.....

Bluster....

 and spread pain

But those who are strong

 can whisper like the wind

and be heard

spreading peace

That is how you know who is weak
and who is strong

and that's poetiquejustis
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 15:1

The DIY Life

What we have to learn to do, we learn by doing.
Aristotle

Squirrels learn to gather nuts

by gathering

Birds learn to fly

 by flying

Kids learn to walk

by walking

The only way to learn to live

   Is by living

Go! Live! Do!
and that's poetiquejustis
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Philippians 4:9

It "Seams" to Me

Stay calm and grab the seam ripper.
    Sign in a fabric store

Is everything coming apart?

Are you losing it?

Do you feel as though the stuffing

has been knocked out of you?

Here is the good news

Maybe you have just outgrown things

And it is time to sew up that deal

With your future

And that's poetiquejustis
"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse.
Matthew 9:16

Let's Make A Muddle Out of Life!

We sit in the mud... and reach for the stars.
Ivan Turgenev
When life seems like a   muddle
And the waters have been muddied
by the words that people say and things they do

When your boots seemed stuck and mired

And you really are quite tired

From the muddle that seems like life to you

Grab that mud and make some mud pies

Leave your footprints
Make a disguise

Take the muddle and build a stairway to the sky!
and that's poetiquejustis
I waited patiently for the LORD;
He turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock
Psalm 40:1-2

Come Rain or Shine

As you grow older, you'll find the only things you regret are the things you didn't do.
Zachary Scott

All the roads I did not take

All the smiles I did not make

All the dreams I did not wake

Are still waiting out there for me

All the people I wanted to be

All the places I wanted to see

All the things that could have been me

Are still waiting out there for me
and rain or shine
They are going to be mine
Are you with me?
and that's poetiquejustis

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith
2 Timothy 4:7

Notes On A Mission

I had been my whole life a bell.
Annie Dillard
The lunch bell

The dismissal bell
Wedding bells
And doorbells
Sleigh bells
and church bells
    Edgar Allen Poe wrote:
How it swells!
                  How it dwells
On the Future! how it tells
            Of the rapture that impels
To the swinging and the ringing
            Of the bells, bells, bells,
          Of the bells, bells, bells,bells,
                  Bells, bells, bells-
To the rhyming and the chiming of the bells!
You know, when you think about it...life does have a certain ring to it.
and that's poetiquejustis

If I speak in the languages of humans and angels but have no love,
I have become a reverberating gong or a clashing cymbal.
I Corinthians 13:1

Dedicated to the Mission at San Juan Capistrano where the bells will ring and the swallows will return this weekend.
