Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Growing Up is Silly

I was wise enough to never grow up
while fooling most people into believing I had
Margaret Meade

Grown ups eat brie on dry little crackers

Kids like grilled cheese on white

Grown ups chase deals, investors and backers

Kids look for hills to fly kites
Grown ups dither over year end balances

Kids write a letter to Nick
It is Christmas- a time for beauty

and  wonder
or
just grown up humbug
!
you pick!
And that's poetiquejustis
And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children,
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:3

I Heard the Bells

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
    Their old, familiar carols play,
        And wild and sweet
        The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Very few of us know that this poem was written
during the American  Civil War
No wonder Longfellow's pen had turned to thoughts of peace
And the familiar comfort of the Christmas Bells.
peace may seem for you today as elusive as it did for him
   in the midst of war
For we all battle something
in fact, Wadsworth also said:
 and so this Christmas day
Seek peace and pursue it
Stop, and hear the music of the Christmas Bells
If only for a moment
and
If only in your heart
Do you feel it?
That is the joy of Christmas!
And if you receive it
It is yours to have and to hold
And that's poetiquejustis
And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord;
It shall rejoice in His salvation.
Psalm 35:9

Where Greatness Abides

Don't be afraid to give up the good and go for the great!
Kenny Rogers
A season of renewal!
A season of Joy!
A season of  Hope!
A time of peace when the heart can be as still as the fallen snow
A time of wonder
A time to feel the greatness of it all.
and time to remember where the greatness truly abides
and that's poetiquejustis
Isaiah 9:6

Simply Miracles

Out of difficulties
grow miracles
Jean de Bruyere
No matter where you find yourself
No matter how barren it all seems
No matter how alone you are

Your life can grow in to a miracle
and that's poetiquejustis
Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
Luke 12:27

The Price of Happiness

The man is richest
whose pleasures are cheapest
Henry David Thoreau
The sound of laughter around your table
The warmth of a touch
 Familiar footsteps
coming through the door
The sharing of a moment
or of a lifetime
or just hanging out with a friend
These are the pleasures beyond price
and these are the gifts I wish for you

And that's poetiquejustis
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights
with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
James 1:17

Truth To Tell

Light is the symbol of truth
James Russell Lowell
Day-break  in a city
day-break in the forest
Day-break in soul
When the light of day breaks forths
That which has kept the world in darkness must let go
Today- let the day-break in to your life
and the darkness will let go
and that's poetiquejustis

I have come in to the world as Light so that no one who believes in Me should stay in darkness.
John 12: 46

Pace Yourself

Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.
- Chinese Proverb

Move with intention
so that you may meditate on the moment

Move with ease so that life may impart its grace

Move and keep on moving
but do not feel the need to run

Give life the respect of a steady pace
and it will pay you back with the journey of a lifetime
and that's poetiquejustis
