Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

There are no words

I found that I could say things with colors and shapes
That I couldn't say in any other way- that I had no words for.
Georgia O'Keeffe
Words can be highly overrated

They can be overused

They can build a wall
And the right ones can be hard to find

But there is something about a sunrise
 and a rainbow
That everyone understands
When the world seems so full of darkness that words no longer cheer
Consider....

"Clouds come floating in to my life no longer to carry rain or usher storm
but to add color to my sunset sky." R. Tagore
And that's poetiquejustis

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.

“A person’s words can be life-giving water;
words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook.”

Making the Least of It

I make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes
Sara Teasdale
Coming and going
Life's ebbing and flowing
The rising and falling
Waking and sleeping
Giving and taking

It is all within your reach
If you only let it go
and that's poetiquejustis

But the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth
and the desires for other things
come in and choke the Word, making it unfruitful.
Mark 4:19

It Never Gets Old

If you carry your childhood with you
you never grow older
Abraham Sutzkever

A poem

A story

A smell

A taste

A memory-
have one!
to get you through the day
and that's poetiquejustis

I remember the days of long ago;
I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.
Psalm 143:5

Let the Sparks Fly

“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled
by a spark from another person.
  Albert Schweitzer

 When the days are dark

You can be a candle in the window

When the nights are long

You can be someone's dawn

When the clouds are shifting

You can be the rays of hope
Today, you have the chance to make someone grateful for a ray of hope
And that is something you can be grateful for as well
And that's poetiquejustis

Let your light so shine forth before others that your Father in heaven may be glorified.
Matthew 5:16

Believing in Life

Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact
William James
There are times when it is not easy to believe in life
It is not easy to go on
To know why
or how
or if
Yet
We struggle
We press on to the summit
We persevere through the darkness
We smile and we laugh and we sing  and we are human
Until once more the light breaks through and we remember that life after all
simply is
very much worth living
and living well
and that's poetiquejustis
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
John 1:5

There All The Time

If we go down into ourselves
we find that we possess
exactly what we desire
Simone Weil

We are what we take in

We are what we embrace

We are what we believe

We are the one who made those choices

We are exactly what we desire!

And that's poetiquejustis
As a man thinks in his heart
so he is.
Proverbs 23:7

Follow the Flowers

Earth laughs in flowers
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Flowers get it

Slowly becoming who they are

Never resisting their calling

They spend their lives reaching for the sun

They  understand that a little rain must fall

Jeremy Betham said: Stretching his hand up to reach the stars, too often man forgets the flowers at his feet

That would be sad
Because they have so much to teach us

                                                              and that's poetiquejustis.

Behold the lilies of the field
Matthew 6:28
