Not many sounds in life…..exceeds in interest a knock at the door

Trick or treat is coming
The day when we encourage kids to knock on the doors of strangers
(Something that we suggest they never do on any other day)
And take candy from those same strangers
(Another no-no)
But they will be knocking on doors
all their lives for one reason or another
so they best have it
Because your future is always
on the other side of the door
And should you want to meet it
you are going to have to give that door a good hard rap
So, if you want in to your future-
take your hands out of your pockets
And knock!
Nope...too timid!
Knock!
Much better!
"Knock knock"
"Who’s there?"
"It's me- and you are the life I am supposed to be living. Let me in!"
