The sculptor leans back against the wall and studies the piece of marble.
He moves toward it and circles.
It is as though the marble and the man are assessing each other.
Appraising.
As the sculptor picks up the chisel, the marble does not flinch
The sculptor strikes once
then again
then again
There is noise, and dust and pieces of stone fly through the air
And the end of the day the sculptor's arm falls to his side and the chisel is silenced
The sculptor steps back to see his work
The soul of the marble has begun to appear.
Today, you hold the chisel in your hand
An everything you think,
you say,
you read,
you see
will strike your life and shape your soul
And when all the dust and the noise and the busy-ness will stop
what will emerge is the masterpiece you created this day-
Your soul craft.
So go!
Wield the chisel with care!
You are creating a masterpiece that will be with you all your life.
And that's poetiquejustis
