Our brightest blazes of gladness
are commonly kindled by unexpected sparks
Samuel Johnson
Seeing your grandson's first paper airplane take flight
and remembering the day his dad's did the same
Watching the midnight moon shine through your kitchen window
and being grateful for a home
Finding a plant that was wilted and sad
and being encouraged that it has found the will to live
Having someone who wants to hold your hand
And having someone's hand that you want to hold
Those are the brightest blazes of gladness
in our lives
And those are the sparks that never die
And that's poetiquejustis
Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens
James 1:17
