We burn daylight

How quickly we shove back the curtain on the day
We gulp down the air
We push aside that which is in between us and where we want to be
"We burn the daylight" as if it were a penny candle
But not today
Today, daylight will filter through our fingers
and the air will sweep through our soul
We will arrive where we are going no later
But we will arrive there whole
and that's poetiquejustis
