Today I am a Be Leaver
Lewis Carroll
Gathering thoughts
Piles and piles of thoughts
Thoughts that have fallen from my tree
and yours
and some thoughts that have blown in from far away
Some are bright and beautiful
and some are sad
some may need a little work
And there are times it feels that the thoughts are all gone
Ah!
A fresh breeze comes through
and once more
thoughts are falling all around!
Gather your thoughts!
They make a nice place for friends to play
Or warm the autumn night
Gather your thoughts
and give them a home

To The Core
One more bite of the apple….
Neil Diamond
Lots of my friends and I whirled in to our 60’s this year
Some are sailors
Some are still rockin’ out
Some are living in Costa Rica,
making new friends and finding 14,000 things to be happy about...
Some are living five miles from where they grew up but finding something new in life every day
One thing is for certain
Everyone is looking ahead
Maybe that is why we are still friends....
We all want to play it again, Sam
Win another round.....
Take another bite of the apple
Heck- we want to own the orchard!
Neil Diamond wrote:
"Just go out there and face
What you did before
Did it once
You can do it once more”
In your twenties or thirties?
Get going!
Forties and fifties?
Keep going|
Sixties and beyond?
Now you know what you are doing so
take another bite of that apple!

The Streets Where We Played
Whenever I think of yesterday, I close my eyes and see, That place just over The Brooklyn Bridge That will always be home to me.
M Hamlisch, Marilyn and Allan Bergman
Our family has a love affair going with New York City
You put any one of us back in to The City for more than a few hours
and we lose all the r's from our diction and start asking for "a slice" instead of a piece of pizza.
We can- and have- walked the length of Manhattan and back in a day
and we remember when Chelsea and SoHo were places you did not go-
let alone pay millions for a flat
This is all in our DNA
Our family settled there over a hundred years ago
It was only recently though that I started to wonder if they loved it as much as we do....
Take my grandmother
she grew up running along the sunny shores of an Island in the Bay of Naples
and then she came here
and the streets were crowded and noisy
she would have to walk quite a ways through the streets of New Yorkto see the Ocean again
I wonder if she ever did
I never asked her
I wonder if she missed the scent of lemon trees in the air
or the lapping of the waves against the sea walls of her island
Home is a very hard thing to find
And it is an even harder thing to leave
You can leave cities, and houses, and even people
But home is something that sticks with you
until you find it again.
Have you found your home?
Good for you!
Hang on to it with all your heart!
and let's remember those who left their home
so you could find yours

A Little Something
A A Milne
Today, I need a little something
A little
A little laughter
I need a little cottage
Where the wildflowers can watch me grow
I need a little
A little rest
Today, I just need a little something
so I will have
a little something to give
I know there is a little something around here somewhere
Today, I am off to find it
And that is poetiquejustis

A special edition of Poetiquejustis
Ryan Lynn Hendershot, 4 1/2 years old
On September 27, there is a very special Festival of Children event, and one of the organizations it will be assisting is the the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. Would you support our son Cassady as he rides the Carousel of Possible Dreams at South Coast Plaza to raise $10,000 for the Pediatric Research Foundation (PCRF) in honor of Ryan by clicking on the link and donating now?
Line after Line
Do the thing, and you will be given the power.
Emerson
How do they do it?
People who harness the power?
Who decide to lose 100 pounds….and do it
Train to win Olympic gold….and win
Learn how to play Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue on the piano?
How do they do it?
I think I have figured it out.
And each day they begin again.
Each day is a new starting line that has moved
a few feet beyond the starting line of the day before,
until the starting line
becomes
the finish line
