Life is supposed to be a romantic adventure

Recently, one of our sons discovered the world of snorkeling
He spends hours each week beneath the ocean’s surface observing the life that abides there
The beauty, the danger and the ever changing landscape
He sees the ocean differently now
He has experienced its life, you might say, at a deeper level
He has gone beneath the surface.
Others sit upon the beach and enjoy the sand and the sun and the pleasant breeze
They have no intimacy with the universe that is only a few feet away
There are universes beneath the surface all around us.
In the eyes of a stranger or the unspoken dreams of those we know well
There are worlds we have not entered because we are waiting for the right time
or more courage
What is waiting for you- just beneath the surface?
Today you will go to work, or the store, or to school
and you can walk along the shore of life
or you can dive in and see
what's beneath the surface
and that's poetiquejustis
