Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Fear Not

How little can be done under the spirit of fear
Florence Nightingale

If we are fearful
we cannot create

we cannot love

we cannot dream
we cannot really live
But when  we face our fears?
When we walk upon the clouds rather than under them

Ah...that is life under
new management
and that's poetiquejustis
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.
The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18

Just an observation

You can see an awful lot
by just observing
Yogi Berra
Slow down, you're moving too fast
There is so much to see
So much to hear
So much to feel
Slow down
Before life passes you by
and that's poetiquejustis
It is not good to have zeal without knowledge,
nor to be hasty and miss the way.
Proverbs 19:2

"Wish I was a Kellogg's corn flake
Floatin' in a bowl takin movies..."
Simon and Garfunkle

So much of life seems to be about the packaging….
The packaging is always changing, isn't it?

The way the world sees us....the way the mirror sees us..
All about
 the packaging.
Kind of like Corn Flakes
One day you are the kid with all the answers....
The next day......you feel like plain wrap generic
One minute you are fine art
And the next minute you are .....
folk art....

You are a star..
Then, just one of the crowd
But no matter what the picture looks like
If you shake out that box
you are still going to get corn flakes
and there will always be room for corn flakes like us
on the table of life
and that's poetiquejustis
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm  139:14

Missing Words

I have more memories than
if I were a thousand years old.
Charles Baudelaire

A very gracious student told me
that he had read my bio
and was  'impressed"

If he only knew

Our bios tell so little.

They are like a map with a start and an end

and none of the road in between.

The pages are scrubbed of tears

And pain

And even the joy and laughter

But most of all

The memories.

The memories of classmates

And colleagues

and family
who saw us through it all

Such a simple thing

A Biography
A story of a life

In so many missing words

And that's poetiquejustis
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11

So Amazing

Each moment is a place where you have never been
Mark Strand

Amazing, isn't it?

No moment is like the next

No teardrop has a twin

No sunset has a double
So how is it
That we are ever bored?
And that's poetiquejustis
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Psalm 19:1

Who's Going to Stop Me?

You've got to outlast yourself
Clint Eastwood

I only have to take one more step

again and again and again

I only have to go one more round

over and over and over

I have to reach one more inch

then another and another and another

And today
 I must remember:
No one can stop me

but me.

and that's poetiquejustis
For nothing will be impossible with God.
Luke 1:37

The Path Beneath My Feet

They will say you are on the wrong road
if it is your own
Antonia Porchia

There are those who tread the same path

Even if it leads nowhere

And they will tell you to follow

Because that is the way everyone has always gone

And they will sing the same tuneless song

Because it has always been sung

And ask you to sing along

But you!

You strike out upon a glorious new road

And raise your voice to the sky

While people turn away

And sing their tuneless song

And tread their path to nowhere
And say that you are the one

Who is lost

But you never listen
and you keep on traveling
And that is poetiquejustis

"You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up." Deuteronomy 6:7
