Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Nowhere to Go

A summer's disregard,
a broken bottle top
And one man's soul
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
Lyrics: Man in the  Mirror

when I looked up from my latte
I saw a man on the streets today
Shabby and homeless
Vacant eyes
I wondered if he was born in to a family that loved him
If he had a big sister that was so excited when he was born
I wondered about his first baseball game
I wondered about his first dog
and then
I wondered how lives can be so horribly scattered like leaves in the wind
And no one seems to notice
Today, perhaps you will notice
And the wind may cease to blow apart
a single life
just because
you noticed
And that's poetiquejustis
Whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, so you do unto me.
Matthew 25:40

With True Gravity I say...

Of all the laws of nature, gravity is clearly
the most universal
Erik Verlinde, Theoretical Physicist

Life has its ups and downs

and sometimes things do not fall in to place

Just hang on

The world will turn again
And you will come out on top!
and that's poetiquejustis
And He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:17

A Shadow of my future self

We all live in each other's shadow.
Irish Proverb

What we do does not stay with us

Good or bad

Kind or cruel

Smart or silly

It touches others

I want to remember that today

And that's poetiquejustis
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1

This is going to take a little practice

Practice yourself in the little things
and thence proceed to greater
Epictetus
Every marathon runner
First just went out for a walk
Every great orator
started out by just saying 'hello"
to someone
 Take the first steps
Say the first words
Today
and that's poetiquejustis
Not that I have already attained this--that is, I have not already been perfected--but I strive to lay hold of that
for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me.
Philippians 3:12

Your Brush With Life

Life is a great big canvas
Throw all the paint on it you can
Danny Kaye

Choose your words
as though they were colors
because they paint the canvas
of the world
You can color the world kinder
Make the days brighter
You can make the nights warmer
And you can
Paint the town with gladness
Tell me...
what color is the world
after you leave a room?
Is it this?
or this
Blaise Pascal said
Kind word do not cost much
but they accomplish a great deal
I know you get the picture...
and that's poetiquejustis
Stop being mean, bad-tempered, and angry. Quarreling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your lives.
Ephesians 4:31

Just Maybe

Perhaps one day I will go in to space
Stephen Hawking
The big things and the small things
that live in the "one day"
Like
Perhaps one day keys will not get lost
and socks will come out of the dryer in pairs
Perhaps one day everyone will have a place to sleep at night

and children will not go to sleep hungry
Perhaps one day

Today is one day
In your life and mine
and we will use it to make better things happen
perhaps
one day
and that is poetiquejustis

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
Isaiah 11:6

From Here to There

There are no shortcuts
to any place worth going
Beverly Sills
The high road
The low road
One foot in front of the other
Eye on the target
Shoulder to the wheel
you have heard it all
and it is just the plain truth
Winston Churchill said:
"Success consists of going from failure to failure without
loss of enthusiasm"
Stay on that road,
and you are going to get where you are supposed to be.
That's the way it works
and that's poetiquejustis
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us
Hebrews 12:1
