Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

The Key

The doors we open and close each day decide the life we live
Jean Shinoda Bolen

The thoughts you let in
The words you let out
The people you allow in
The people you watch go
Doors.....open and close
But just remember
you still hold the key
and that's poetiquejustis
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven
Matthew 16:19

Let's Make A Wish

There would not be a sky full of stars
if we were all meant to wish
on the same one
Frances Clark
You wish for the ice cream
I'll wish for the cone
You wish for the tea cup
I'll wish for the scone
You wish for the sunshine
I'll wish for the moon
And if we all wish for peace on earth
We may have it soon
and that's poetiquejustis
How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity
Psalm 133:1

The Heights

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations
Louisa May Alcott
Yes...
I see them
far away in the sunshine...
yet I seem to be bound  to a desk...and work...and the petty worries
that masquerade as life
But my mind!
My soul!
My highest aspirations
Will never be bound by the gray of the day to day
and I will join them-

my highest aspirations
far away in the sunshine
and that's poetiquejustis
Romans 8:39

Rub Off on Someone

I’m just trying to make a smudge on the collective unconscious.
David Letterman
As you move through this day
Leave a footprint  for others to follow
Leave an echo for others to hear
so theycan find their way again
Leave a smudge that encourages others to fill their life with color
Leave someone with  a pleasant memory
to get them through the darker hours
But most of all
Leave the world a better place than it was
when you woke up.
John Wesley,
"Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can."
and that's poetiquejustis

 2 Thessalonians 3:13
As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good

Enough is Enough

We live in a world of instant experts.
Joan Borysenko

Get enough "hits" and you are a media sensation

Get enough people to buy what you are selling

Or buy what you are saying
And suddenly
Exposure and expert have somehow become synonymous!
Interesting times we are living in!
and that's poetiquejustis
"Woe to you as well, experts in the law!" He replied.
"You weigh men down with heavy burdens,
but you yourselves will not lift a finger to lighten their load."
Luke 11:46

To Make It All Rhyme

To a poet, nothing is useless
Samuel Johnson
I save things- too many things some would say
A bit of ribbon that ornamented a gift from my kids....
A dried rose of a bouquet from my husband
The puppy collar that belonged to our Labrador Retriever-
gone now these many years
They all make up a pattern
A mosaic
Leonard Cohen said: ring the bells that can be rung
And these bits and pieces are the bell pulls of my heart
I do so love to hear them rhyme and chime!
They are the verses of my poem-
The lyrics to my melody
called Life
and that's poetiquejustis
Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8

Just A Little

To me, the smell of fresh made coffee
is one of the greatest inventions
Hugh Jackman
The simple things
The lovely things
The things that don't cost much
but mean so much

if you can own those things

you really have it all
and that's poetiquejustis
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.."
Luke 18:10
