Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Star Travel

It is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves
William Shakespeare

In the stars there are stories
In the stories there are dreams
In the dreams there is a future
In the future there is light
In the light there is a star

You ARE the story

Travel forth and find your Star!
and that's poetiquejustis
He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Psalm 147:4

The Ball is in Play!

Action is the real measure of intelligence
Napoleon Hill
It is football season and the armchair quarterbacks abound
But they are not seasonal
There are always plenty of people ready to tell you
what to do
how to do it
not to do it
Makes you wonder where they get all the time-
Until you realize
They are not doing anything themselves
That game is over!
Your game is on!
and that's poetiquejustis
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12-14

Hold on there!

We forge the chains we wear in life
Charles Dickens
Shackled to our inconsistencies

Bound to our bias
Tangled in our temperament
Caught in the net of our misunderstandings
When are we going to set ourselves free?

Today seems as good a day as any!
If you let go of what is holding you
It has no choice but to let you go too
and that's poetiquejustis
Then you  will know the truth, and the truth will set you free
John 8:32

Life's Little Leftovers

It is not the leftovers that are wasteful-
it is the people who do not know what to do with them
or cannot be bothered.
Julian Baggini
What have you got left over at the end of your day?
A cup more energy?
A crumb or two more of a smile?
A tablespoon of  curiosity?
Whip up a bit more life!
Throw  what you have left on the fire!

Then invite someone to dine with you on the very joy of living!
After you do all the things in a day you have to do-
sometimes the "leftovers" you share
are the best part of the day!
and that's poetiquejustis
Do not forget to do good and to help one another, because these are the sacrifices that please God.

Thankful...Oh Yes I am...

I'll never have enough time to paint all the pictures I want to.
Norman Rockwell
For the words of kindness we say
and our right to say them
I am thankful today
For the words we pray
and our right to pray them
I am thankful today
For the wrongs we have righted
The hope we have ignited
I am thankful today

And I will always be thankful

and that's poetiquejustis
I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my mouth and I will enter His courts with praise
Psalm 100:4

Making It Up As You Go Along

Life is what you make it. Always was- always will be
Grandma Moses
Make the best of it
Make the most of it
Make it up as you go along
But make it the best day
The best moment
The best life
That you can
and that's poetiquejustis
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Up And At 'Em

I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs
but how high he bounces when he hits bottom
George Patton
Ups
and downs
Over
or  out
In the money
or in the soup
Top of the heap
Bottom of the pile
It doesn't really matter
What matters is what happens next
And that's poetiquejustis
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining
 toward what is ahead
Philippians 3:13

Habitual Life!

Life never becomes a habit to me
It's always a marvel
Katherine Mansfield
There is a fast food place nearby my office called "The Habit"
I hear it's good
I mean- how do you argue with a fast food place that has Ahi Caesar salad?
So they kicked it up a notch....
I still refuse to go
The name annoys me
Habit = rut= sameness
I am looking for
The Surprising!
Ok...perhaps I am asking too much of a restaurant
But if I am going to have a habit
it is going to have to be called
"Something Marvelous"
and that's poetiquejustis
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.
