Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Could this be possible?

Don't ever tell me that something is impossible
Will Smith

I am Italian

Stubborn is in my DNA

So I will make a deal with you

I will not tell you something you want to do is impossible

If you don't tell me something I want to do is impossible

is that possible?

Sure it is!

and that's poetiquejustis
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Matthew 19:26

A Little of This and A Little of That

Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned
Peter Marshall

Plant one flower

if you cannot plant a field
and you will learn how to grow

Hum a few notes

If you cannot sing a cantata
and your heart will learn to sing

Enjoy the moment

Because moments add up to a life

Little things
are big things
if you do them

and that's poetiquejustis
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much"
Luke 16:10

Just Duckie!

Just tell yourself, Duckie,
you're really quite lucky!

Dr Seuss

So, sometimes you just feel different and you don't know why
and there are days when no matter what you do
you get stuck in the tall grass and cannot get going!

and there are those days when it feels as though no one is listening
but other days
 you know someone cares
Someone is there to show you the way home
and you just know you belong!

so all, in all, Duckie,
you really ARE quite lucky
and that's poetiquejustis

For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
                                                                  Philippians 4:11

It's A Gift!

It is not good to refuse a gift

Accept it

The challenges

The tragedies

The joys

The doldrums

and the high spirits

Accept them all with an open hand
 Because each is a gift
that makes your journey what it is
and makes you who you are

and you are
a very special gift-

and that's poetiquejustis
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well
Romans 12:6

To Know

Knowledge is a fine thing

Very true

Knowledge IS a fine thing
the seeds of learning are planted there

Wisdom is a finer thing
because that unlocks what is hidden in the knowledge

Compassion is even a finer thing

wisdom with compassion is the finest thing of all
because that is where
the mind and the heart
have become a soul
and that's poetiquejustis
"Do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”
Zechariah 7:10

Learning never exhausts the mind
Leonardo da Vinci

Like a stream forging its way through a new path

Like a ray of sun breaking through a cloud

Like a blossom through the late spring snow
 New thoughts
New challenges
New Life

Thomas Huxley said:
Try to learn something about everything
and everything about something
and that's poetiquejustis
Let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance--
Proverbs 1:5

The other side of the story

Hear the other side
St Augustine

Not just the other side of the story

Listen to
the other side of your story

the other side of your soul's story

that longs for more than this

Hear the other side

And listen
until your story speaks
and then keep listening
And that's poetiquejustis
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17

Where I Have To Go

I learn by going where I have to go
Theodore Roethke

Liz Lemon's famous line:
"I want to go to there"

I do not always want to go to "there"
Not all "theres" are created equal, you know.

Down painful roads

Joyous paths

In to the future

Out of the past
and yet I go
I learn

by going where I have to go
and that's poetiquejustis

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105

But above all else-
try something

When our son was 13
he tried escargot
He probably never ate them again
but he tried

I respected him for that

I don't know what made him decide to try them
he just did

What do you see yourself trying?

Go ahead and try!
It can't be any worse than eating snails

and that's poetiquejustis!

Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19
