Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Just Try and Stop Me

In the depth of winter, I finally learned
that there was in me
an invincible summer
Albert Camus
In the seasons of pain
In the months of disappointment
In the hours of uncertainty
 We all have within us
 an invincible self
if only we will let it
shine
and that's poetiquejustis
let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

What Day Is This?

There are 7 days in the week
and 'someday' isn't one of them
Shaquille O'Neal
Each day has a challenge waiting for you
Each moment an opportunity waiting for you
Don't waste those times
on having to do the things
that should have already been done
Alternative:
 and that's poetiquejustis
Don’t brag about tomorrow,
since you don’t know what the day will bring.
Proverbs 27:1

Funny Thing About That

Humor is the instinct for taking pain playfully
Max Eastman
Every day, we all deal with people
who just do not know how to laugh it off
People who can turn a bowl of cold cereal
In to a three act play
or a simple problem
in to a drama of Greek tragedy proportion
And then they manage to cast themselves in the role of both
victim
and hero
while making certain they
everyone within a thirty mile radius
You aren't like that, are you?
I didn't think so
That's why I like you
And that's poetiquejustis
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9

I've seen fire and I've seen rain

But I set fire to the rain
Adele
Anger
Fire
flaming and out of control
Breathe

Softly
Turn away from the blaze
Feel the inner warmth
Move on
and leave the fire to consume itself
and that's poetiquejustis
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you
along with malice
Ephesians 4:31

Chance of a Lifetime

Necessity is the mother of taking chances

Mark Twain
Today I met a hummingbird
He hovered by my face
Wings beating the air with frantic grace
And he bid me follow
He waited there as long as he could
He wished me no ill and only good
And he bid me follow
But I stood rooted like a tree
Afraid to move - afraid to see
What might be there if I agreed
To follow
And so with one last fleeting glance
He rose in the air and with him my chance
To follow.....
Perhaps he will find me again
and time and duty will tell me when
to follow
And I will soar with graceful ease
and the hummingbird will say
"now if you please....
follow"
and that's poetiquejustis
But as to the suitable times and the precise seasons and dates, brethren, you have no necessity for anything being written to you.

What Exactly Are You Waiting For?

Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told:
"I'm with you kid. Let's go."
                                                           Maya Angelou
Life: grab here....

Time to experiment
......you don't need experience
.............in fact, if you wait for experience
.......................you will never experiment
and that's not living!

Life...take it for a spin

Give life a little grin

take life

and then do something that rocks
 Experiments don't take experience
and.....

All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

and that's poetiquejustis
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it
Psalm118:24

Here's Mud in Your Life

We sit in the mud... and reach for the stars.
Ivan Turgenev
When life seems like a   muddle
And the waters have been muddied
by the words that people say and things they do

When your boots seemed stuck and mired

And you really are quite tired

From the muddle that seems like life to you

Grab that mud and make some mud pies

Leave your footprints
Make a disguise

Take the muddle and build a stairway to the sky!
and that's poetiquejustis
I waited patiently for the LORD;
He turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock
Psalm 40:1-2

Gently Down the Stream

Take the gentle path
George Herbert
You can blast your way through life
You can trod all underfoot
You can mow down  all that is in your way
But then be ready
to build your life on rubble
Today- by all means go forward
Gently....
You will still get where you want to go
And it will be a much nicer place to live
when you get there
and that's poetiquejustis
Let your gentleness be known to all
Philippians 4:5
