Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

A New Way

"We do not think ourselves into new ways of living

we live ourselves into new ways of thinking."  Richard Rorh

There is a place between "Let's think about it"

and

"Just do it"

It is a steady momentum propelling us upward

Beyond

The four walls of our mind

or what our eyes think can see
Living is more than thinking about living

Living is the life you bring to the thought
and that's poetiquejustis

“In almost everything that touches our everyday life on earth, God is pleased when we’re pleased. He wills that we be as free as birds to soar and sing our maker’s praise without anxiety.” ~A.W. Tozer

It's What You Don't Know That Can Make The Difference!

Thank goodness my education was neglected
Beatrix Potter
No one told Ms Potter
that she had to be trained to draw
so she produced art
No one told her that she
did not know how to publish a book
So she did- again and again and again
Where would we be had
Ms Beatrix Potter
listened to the voices saying
"you can't do that"
Where will you be
if you do?
I was just wondering
and that's poetiquejustis
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world,
but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do
and think.
Then you will learn from your own experience how His ways
will really satisfy you.
Romans 12:2

Harmony- Flat Out

Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed
Mahatma Gandhi

When you play the blues, sometimes the C chord becomes a bit more interesting
if you let the 7th note go flat

You have built a good case for that chord all the way up the scale
A good strong C   a resounding E and a smack 'em down G
And no matter how you turn it around-
It is  still the same chord

It is sounding strong, and it is sounding very clear
But what makes the listener remember is if you throw in a B flat  at the end

It is like taking a bow and stepping away

When we try to make our point with people,
we need to learn how to let that last note go flat
Leave a little room for the imagination
and a lot of room
for harmony
That is my note about having the last word
and that's poetiquejustis
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Just a Cuppa

A cup of tea would restore my normality.
Douglas Adams
Would it now....a bit much to ask from some brewed leaves from the guy who wrote this
But I will take his word for it
Because "normality" looks different to all of us
To some the world is always a bit bleak
To some, normal is what tomorrow will be like
To others, it will always look like yesterday
To some normal is waiting for something to appear
To others, it is always leaving something behind
Normality
Define it for yourself
That is the best that you can do
Oh...and join Mr. Adams for a have a cup of tea-
it couldn't hurt- right?
and that's poetiquejustis
Do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewal of your mind
Romans 12:2

Unexpected

The afternoon knows what the morning never expected
Swedish Proverb
Surprises
Around every corner
Across every mile
At the turn of the page
Or the turn of a head
Surprises
Oh, the things we do not know
that is what is wonderful about every day
and that is poetiquejustis
  He changes times and seasons;
he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who have understanding
Daniel 2:21

Shooing Away the Shadows

A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows
Francis of Assisi
A silent prayer
A cheerful thought
A pleasant memory or two

A whimsical plan
A moment of gratitude
All sunbeams in your day
And all there for the asking
and that's poetiquejustis
A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.
Proverbs 17:22

Hammer and Forge

Whatever good things we build end up building us.
Jim Rohn

Skyscrapers do not just happen

They must be built

From the ground

Up

 In fact,
Everything in this life must be built

Including life itself

You have to dig deep and put in the foundation-

Family, friends, home
You have to reach out to the community
to give your life meaning and structure

and you have to  reach up to give your life support

If this all sounds like work,
it is
But the view makes it all worth while

You cannot dream yourself into a character;
you must hammer and forge yourself one.
Henry David Thoreau

Proverbs 28:6 – “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways
