Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

"A fresh mind keeps the body fresh.

Take in the ideas of the day

drain off those of yesterday.
As to the morrow, time enough to consider it when it becomes today. "

Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing

Convinced

I figured that if I said it enough,
I would convince the world that I really was the greatest.
Muhammad Ali

What do you see when you look at yourself?

Do you know that person?
Do you realize you are looking at a champ?

So what if you are a little different than the rest

You are in a league of your own
 The very best
at being you!
You know it, and I know it!
and that's poetiquejustis
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else. Galatians 6:4

Camp Idontwanna

Let us train our minds to desire
what the situation demands
Seneca

I have to perform a monologue in acting class tomorrow night

It is not one that I particularly like
And definitely not one I would have chosen for myself

I am pretty sure that my acting coach chose it for just that reason
Her mantra?
"Learn to do the uncomfortable"

You know....
Stretch

Grow

Out of the box you have been living in!

Washington Irving said:
One of the greatest and simplest tools for
learning more and growing is doing more.

Ready?
Me too!

and that's poetiquejustis
Let us, then, be up and doing,
     With a heart for any fate;
 Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

But you ,my brethern, donot grow weary indoing what is excellent

Who Brought the Music?

Cherish the music that starts in your heart
James Allen
As a Man Thinketh

There is a song in your soul

Words and lyrics written by life
Your life

It is a ballad

A Love Song

And music that rocks the world

Find that song and sing it

Nah!  Don't be shy!!!
Sing it out!
That's better!
Now, we can party!
and that's poetiquejustis
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.
Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord
Ephesians 5:19

Larger Than Life

I live a small life...valuable.....but small
Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail

Even if the world does not consider you a player
You can still be a winner in this life
Take my sister-in-law Maria
Maria lives in a tiny dot of a town
in Nye County, Nevada

For years she has dedicated herself to helping learning disabled students in the classroom

Helping them to set, and reach goals that you and I would take for granted

You will never see her on the news
or signing books

 and there may never be
a monument to her name

But every day, someone is better off
because she has lived
and that is someone who has won at the game of life
I want to grow up and be just like her

Emily Dickinson said:
If I can stop one heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain
If I can ease one life the aching
Or cool one pain
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again
I shall not live in vain.
Remember
Your life is never small when your arms are reaching out

and that's poetiquejustis

Carry each others  burdens
and in this way you shall fulfill the law of Christ
Galatians 6:2

Life can be such a circus!

I've got all these little balls up in the air
and if someone caught one of them for me
I'd probably drop all of them.
Michelle Pfeiffer as Melanie in One Fine Day

In sociology, they call it roll strain
Needing-wanting- to be where you are not not

doing the things that you want to be doing

for those you want to be doing things for

 and making everyone happy
But alas. you can only be one place at a time,
so you juggle
 The statesman John Selden said
"The world cannot be governed without juggling"
 I know that mine can't!
But, then again, it beats working without a net!
                               and that's poetiquejustis

To everything there is a season
and a time for every purpose under heaven Ecclesiastes 3:1

Drop It

I believe that every human mind feels pleasure
in doing good to another.
Thomas Jefferson

We were moving from one building to another in our complex
there were what seemed to be an endless series of doors
in between the two

 In fact...there were 8
Balancing boxes and opening doors should be an Olympic event
I wonder if the young woman who held the door for me on one of those trips  knows what it meant to me

One small act that she does not even remember I am sure
But to me, it meant the world

Mother Theresa said:

“What we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.

But if that drop was not in the ocean,

I think the ocean would be less because of that missing drop"

Drop some kindness in to someone's life today
You may never know how much it means
and that's poetiquejustis

Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9
