Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Not everything that counts
can be counted
and not everything that can be counted
A. Einstein

I have never counted  children's smiles
but they are more precious than gold

I have never counted my lover's kisses
and yet they never grow old
Counting seems a simple way
of knowing what you have lost

But loving the good that comes your way
means  you never count the cost
and that's poetiquejustis

When troubles of any kind come your way, count it as an opportunity for great joy.  For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
James 1:2

Who Lives in that "Village"?

The important work
of moving the world forward
does not wait to be done
by perfect men
George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans)

They say it takes a village

I say it takes you

And me

And anyone else ready to show up

And do the work

That's how it gets done
And that's poetiquejustis
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27

Pop Quiz!

There is no cramming for the test
of life
Madeline Albright

Take notes!

You just never know
when there is going to be

a test
and that's poetiquejustis
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Begin to Be

The best you can be

The kindest you can be

The most peaceful you can be

The most generous you can be

the more life you will live

Winston Churchill said
We make a living by what we get
We make a life by what we give

Are you ready?

And that's poetiquejustis
"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal"
Matthew 6:20

Wherever you go...

The path is your to choose

The song is yours to sing

The words are yours to say

This life is yours to live

So what is stopping you
from doing it
with all your heart?

That is the question
and that's poetiquejustis
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21

Just a little more

Do a little more each day
than you think you possibly can
Lowell Thomas

 Just for today:

Be a little kinder

Dream a little bigger

Reach a little higher

See a little more

Feel a little more

Be a little more

Than you think you possibly can
and that's poetiquejustis
Proverbs 2:7 “He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.”

Don't play it again, Sam!

Never play a thing
the same way twice
Louis Armstrong
If life is the same old song

turn the page

If life is the same old dance

learn a new step

If life is not fresh every day

Open the windows of your mind
and let in something  new
and that's poetiquejustis
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17

Laugh Out Loud

Laugh out loud
Gretchen Ruben

I was on the Long Island Railroad one night

a somber face among many somber faces

chugging along in silence to home

so I could turn around and do it all again the next day

It was the normal, silent evening commute

Until I saw a hand move slowly toward the floor

and a man put a box down, opened it, and withdrew his hand

What happened next, I will never forget

it was am mechanical laughter machine

And as the laughter came from the little box
and the people nearby heard  they began to laugh

and the laughter spread from row to row
and within minutes, these somber folks

were all laughing until they we could not breathe
And the man put the box away
and smiled
So go- be a laugh machine!
and that's poetiquejustis
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting.
Job 8:21

A Note About Inspiration

The great composer doesn't set to work
because he is inspired
He is inspired because he is working
Ernest Newman
perhaps it begins with just an idea or two - t
he or the very wisp of an idea
The shadow of an idea

as you go about your daily life....
you know there is something more
and suddenly
in the midst of life
it is there!
what you have been waiting to see and feel and hear
all of your life
 and others hear it to
in the middle of their own lives
they were inspired!
and all they had to do
was live
and that's poetiquejustis
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17
