Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Is It Possible?

Nothing is impossible!
The word itself says "I'm possible"
 Audrey Hepburn

I am possible!

You are possible!

We are possible

It is all  possible
and that's poetiquejustis
All things are possible with God
"Everything is possible for him who believes."
Mark 9:23

Above All Else

There are some things you learn best in calm and some in storm
Willa Cather

In the quiet moments

In the lonely moments

In times of fear

In times of courage

In times of hope

In times of despair

Above all else

May we learn to be wise

and that's poetiquejustis
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.
James 3:17

Keeping it real

Once you become real, you cannot become unreal.
It lasts for always.

Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit

It's not easy being real

When you are real you get bumped and bruised and  bothered

You get lost and found and mystified

Ah, but once you are real, there is no turning back!

Because as George Bernard Shaw said

"Life is not about finding yourself
Life is about creating yourself"
So, you may as well keep it real
and that's poetiquejustis

Not that I have already obtained all this,
or have already been made perfect,
but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me
Philippians 3:12

Just By Chance

Ability is nothing without
Napoleon I

Window of opportunity stuck?

Cut a new one!

Lose the key to the door to the future?

Take that thing off the hinges!

Opportunity just not stopping at your floor?

Then go up the down escalator!

But whatever you do,

Do not let your chances pass you by!
Emily Dickinson said:
"Not knowing when the dawn would come, I opened every door"
And that's poetiquejustis

But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.”
Show me your faith apart from your works,
and I will show you my faith by my works.
 James 2:18

This I Know is True

“And if my heart be scarred and burned,
The safer, I, for all I learned.”
Dorothy Parker

Piece of my mind?

Peace of my mind

Live and let live?

 Give and give and give

you can
or
you can believe and receive it

Life is about choices
and that's poetiquejustis

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...
Joshua 24:15

Free Yourself

Boldness be my friend
William Shakespeare

Walk boldly

Love boldly

Live boldly

Dream boldly
 Robert Frost said:
“Freedom lies in being bold.”
Now that is bold!
and that is poetiquejustis
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.
There we will receive his mercy,
and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Hebrews 4:16

The Color of My Sunset will Never be the Same

Clouds come floating into my life,
no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.
 Rabindranath Tagore

There was someone very mean to me today- no one that I know well
Just someone who shot across my life like lightening

leaving darkness in their wake-

a darkness that only could have come from within them
How awful to have that much darkness inside!
"Sound and fury signifying nothing"

But when the storm passed

 and with it the darkness

I realized it had signified something
That does not happen very often...those clouds coming across my sky
In fact, it almost never happens

My clouds are rather of the friendlier type

Perhaps I need a dark cloud now and then to appreciate the sun

Because today, I appreciate the sun
and the color of the clouds
and the light that makes the darkness fade
just a little bit more than I did yesterday
and that's poetiquejustis

I am the Light of the world.
John 8:12

Calling It a Day

One sun rose on us today, kindled over our shores...
Richard Blanco, "One Today"

As I write this
My day is ending

It has curled up at my feet with our dog

And the worries and the victories and the furrowed brow

Have all come down to one question....

The freeway has been conquered one more time

The questions fielded

The answers  and the decisions made

Except for that last one....what to make for dinner

And even that may go unanswered
because that may be one question too many
and sometimes you just knowing when to stop
is just as important as knowing where to start
and that's poetiquejustis

God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night."
And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.
Genesis 1:5
