Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

It Is Really So Smple

It is the sweet simple things
which are the real ones after all.
Laura Ingalls Wilder

The patter of rain

The smell of baking bread

A hand to hold
A door that keeps the world out

A window that lets the sunshine in
That's  real
That's simple
And that's poetiquejustis

Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world,
and we cannot take anything out of the world.
But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.
1 Timothy 6:6-8

It Is In The Air

There is a blessing in the air
William Wordsworth

Winds of hate

Skies filled with verbal thunder

The pollution of unkindness
all around us
Take a minute

Take a breath

Find a blessing

And breathe it in

Now breathe it out to others
and know that you have done your best for this day
and that is poetiquejustis
I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying,
for he speaks peace to his faithful people
Psalm 85:8

Getting A Flow Going

Life rushes from within
Willa Cather
You have what it takes!
The energy
The momentum that keeps you going
The passion for life even in the face of adversity
You have that strange and wonderful possession that we call  life!
Don't keep it bottled up!
Let it flow
Let it flow
 let it flow
 and that's poetiquejustis
"Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."
John 7:38

Plain and Fancy

To give reason for fancy were to weigh the fire, and measure the wind.
John Lyly
What do you fancy?
What makes your eyes shine
And your heart sing
And your soul soar?
When you are window shopping in life
what do you fancy?
What makes you leap in to the day
And keep moving forward?
What do you fancy?
I hope the list is very long because those are the places
where you touch the heart of life
and that's poetiquejustis
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good...
Luke 6:45

I Want to be a Widget When I Grow Up

The good and the wise lead quiet lives
Euripides
I have a nephew who is a computer genius
If you ask him what he does he will say
"I develops  widgets that run in the background
and keep everything moving."
I want to be a widget
Running in the background and keeping the human in humanity
Einstein said:
It has become appallingly obvious that our technology
has exceeded our humanity.

Here is to all the widgets of the world trying to keep it  human.
and that's poetiquejustis

...and make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,  so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
I Thessalonians 4:11-12

A Season of Kindness

To cultivate kindness is a valuable part of the business of life
Samuel Johnson

To weed out the bitterness

To water with tears of joy and sadness

To give the sunshine of a smile

To plant the seeds of kindness

and then to watch them grow

That is a good life

and that's poetiquejustis
"...who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully."
2 Corinthians 9

The Wisdom of The Butterfly

"Every day is a little life." Joseph Hale

Each dawn is a new opportunity

To be joyful

To be helpful

To be kind

To be patient

To be truly alive from dawn to dusk!

Every day.
A butterfly counts life in moments

I like that

And since life begins anew each day

I think I will too

And that's poetiquejustis
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17
