Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

You've Got This

You will never find a better sparring partner
than adversity.
Golda Meier

Go ahead!
Tell them to put 'em up

Let them take a swing.

They think they have you on the ropes

They think you are down for the count

Not you!

What they do not know is

That you can go ten rounds with adversity
and walk away
A champ

and that's poetiquejustis
Consider it pure joy when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:2

Effort- More or Less

Keep the faculty of effort alive in you
by a little gratuitous practice every day.
William James

Give it a try

Give it a push

Give it a shove

Put a little elbow grease in there

                                                 Take it all in

Give it some love

Give it some care

This is your Life-
Your journey

make an effort

And that's poetiquejustis
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men
                                          Colossians 3:23

Heroes Needed: Grab Your Cape

"Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies,
let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage.”
C S Lewis

We all have things we fear
No matter how young or old we are

and we all want to find a hero who will come to the rescue

Perhaps today you will be

the hero of someone's story

When you listen

When you care

When you love even those who are cold of heart

So grab your cape!

There is work to be done-
and you are just the Hero to do it!

And that's poetiquejustis
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation,
the news that the God of Israel reigns!
Isaiah 52:7

The Burden

Write your injuries in dust
your benefits in marble
Benjamin Franklin
The wrongs you remember
will be the dark burden you choose to carry through life
But replace that burden with forgiveness in your heart
And it will carry you in to the light

 and that's poetiquejustis
“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not,
and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven"
Luke 6:37

Whatcha Thinkin'?

Humility is not thinking less of yourself
It is thinking of yourself less.
C S Lewis
Fill your mind with new ideas
Fill your mouth with praise and cheers

Fill your heart with the call of duty
Fill your life with hopes and  beauty

Stand aside and let your ego pass

For it will fade like summer grass

What will last- what will stay

Is what you do for others today
and that's poetiquejustis
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory,
but in humility let each esteem others better than themselves
Philippians 2:3

Here is the Scoop!

I doubt whether the world holds for any one
a more soul stirring surprise
than the first adventure with
ice cream.
Heywood Broun
The ice cream truck that made
you run from the house grasping your nickel
as you tugged your mom along-
"Hurry!  He is gonna to leave!!"
 Remember?
The way ice cream was always tasted better
when you bought it
on the boardwalk at the beach
Remember?
Your first "grown up flavor"
coffee?
pistachio?
When ice cream became cool
When ice cream forgot what it was
but we didn't
remember?
sure you do!

It's summer!
Enjoy
and that's poetiquejustis
How sweet are your words to my taste
Psalm 119:103

Planting Hope

Where hope grows, miracles blossom
Elina Rae
We bought a home where the backyard
had been left to weeds, dust,
and a few generations of hearty squirrels,
for over 40 years
That's it.
Nothing else
As we critically eyed the ground,
we knew we wanted to see it bloom
So we dug in to the rocky, grainy soil, planted, and watered,
At the end of the first day, one side of the yard was covered in red and pink geraniums
and lot's of hope
and that hope kept us planting
under some very watchful eyes, I might add.
You know what we learned?
Sometimes, no matter how bad the landscape looks
a little work
and a lot of hope

can change it all
for everyone

and that's poetiquejustis
In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.
Proverbs 24:14
