Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Once More With Feeling

If you ask me what I came into this life to do
I will tell you that I came to live out loud
Emile Zola

Speak up!

Sing out!

Shout the good news that life is worth living!

Drown out the naysayers!

Drown out the cynics!

That's the spirit!
Live out loud!

And do it with joy
And that's poetiquejustis

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
Psalm 98:4

You Are Your Art

The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude
Nietzsche

You are the artist of your day
Be grateful
Your will paint your world in hues of rose and sunshine

Or streak your sky with grey
You have a choice
Be grateful

You can mold the day in to a thing of beauty
sketch your hours

Life is art, you are the artist
be grateful!
and that's poetiquejustis
And whatever you do, in word or deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

When you are content to be simply yourself and do not compare and compete

people will respect you. Lao-Tzu

Respect- 'literally looking back and regarding'

Different than 'introspect'- looking within

Or even the "inspect' although they all have the same root

We talk about wanting the respect of others

and that is important

But when you walk into tomorrow

It is more important that you can look back

And respect what you have left behind

And that's poetiquejustis

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,

which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

Oh My Goodness

You're a good man, Charlie Brown
Charles Schultz

So, what exactly does it take to be a good person?
Well, here is my short list...

You are a good person if....
You fill up the empty water dish for the dog....
Give the guy on the street a few bucks to eat
and he is a good guy
when he shares it
You are a good guy
if you smile when you see a daisy
 (did you smile?)
You are a good guy if
You eat the meat loaf even if it is not "just like mom's"
That's the good person short list
feel free to add your own
and that's poetiquejustis
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart
Luke 6:45

Batter Up

You got to take it one game at a time
Rick Dempsey
Catcher 1969-1992
Things get thrown at you every day
Fast
Slow
Curved
Low shots
Cheap shots
You choose what you want to take a swing at
It is your game, after all
and that's poetiquejustis
My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,
James 1:2

Growing

Keep growing quietly and seriously.
Rainer Maria Rilke

My kids used to grow in spurts

Usually right after I bought them new clothes
But that was OK.

Growing was their job.

In fact- it still is-
for all of us

for all of us
And that's poetiquejustis

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. I Corinthians 13:11

Paths

"When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?”

John Maynard Keynes

Changing your mind is like changing anything else in your life-

It gives you a fresh start

Whether you are changing the linens

Or changing your hair color

Change is not bad

It is only a problem when you have already chosen the wisest path,

and then determine to go another way

That will never get you where you want to be
but then again, there is always a chance to see the light
and that's poetiquejustis

But when you ask (for wisdom), you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6
