Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Life's Deductibles

It is up to each of us to contribute something wonderful to this world
Nora Neale Houston
Whatever you have to give
give it with all your heart
your art
your song
your encouragement
your words
so...
when life passes the hat
contribute
and that's poetiquejustis
In the same way, let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

Introductions

I have to learn to be myself again- that's all
Dorothy Lessing
Just like this little girl,
I walked out of the house one morning
to go to kindergarten
I was certain that I understood the world
I came home 6 hours later feeling as though
I knew nothing at all

As the years went by
that did not change
because
It takes a long time to remember who you were
After you have been told
who you are supposed to be
But now,
I think I remember
and I will never forget
again
and that's poetiquejustis
Therefore if any person be in Christ, they are a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

Take A Breath

I've got to keep breathing. It'll be my worst business mistake if I don't.
Steve Martin
Breathe!
Keep doing it no matter what it takes!
Rejoice in each one

It is YOUR breath
Catch it and keep it
and that's poetiquejustis
Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Genesis 2:7

The Life Most Useful

Always desire to learn something useful.

Sophocles
Useful....
It is such a useful term
As long as we realize that useful and practical do not have to be the same thing
Balloons are very useful
They make my grandkids smile
Dandelions are useful
They give you wishes to blow in to the wind
Francis Bacon said:
Choose the life that is most useful, and habit will make it the most agreeable.
Probably true, Sir Francis,
but so will balloons and dandelions
and that's poetiquejustis
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:12

Never Undone

Art is never finished
only abandoned
Leonardo DaVinci
The project undone
The song never written
The book without a title
The fence not quite painted
What happened?
What got in the way?
Oh wait-
I remember
Life!
 ain't it grand?
and that's poetiquejustis
To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Life is a sing-along

Life is one grand, sweet song, so start the music.
Ronald Regan

A foot on the floor
A moment  to pray
Pack a kind thought for others
And you are off on your day
An honest day's work
A little bit learned
then you lay down your head
For the rest that you've earned
and that's poetiquejustis
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business
and to work with your hands
I Thessalonians 4:11

Just taking it all in

To learn by observing others...
Mary Catherine Bateson
My dad was fond of saying
"If you are talking,

you are not learning."
He was right, of course.
He often was.
And there is a time to be silent.
To observe and reflect
To gather strength
To  weigh what you see and hear
Doing so is responsible and good.
But once we have taken it all in
and see that there are things that just are not right
Then, silence is no longer a virtue
                                                               and that's poetiquejustis

                                        Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness;
instead, expose them
   Ephesians 5:11

Just another fish story

To see an aquarium, better not to be a fish
Andre Malraux
Well then...to see a forest, better not to be a tree
To see the sky better not to be a cloud
And to see yourself, better not to be someone else
and that's poetiquejustis
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10
