Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

What Will You Do with Today?

It is never too late to be what you might have been
George Eliot

Pick up your feet

Pick up your heart

lift up your eyes

Reach for the stars

Stop sitting around

Wishing things were just great

Snap out of it

- get moving
It is never too late

and that's poetiquejustis
Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19

Roped In

What worries you
masters you
Haddon K Robinson

Worry is like a lasso

It seeks you out

It chases you down

It ropes you in

And before you know it

You cannot move

Today
Send worry

riding off

into the sunset

 alone
and that's poetiquejustis

"No one can serve two masters."
Matthew 6:24

Reach!

How we spend our days
is of course how we spend our lives
Annie Dillard

Lately, I have been more aware of how I spend the gift of time

I have less patience with the trivial and the contrived
Those meaningless projects whose only purpose is self-perpetuation.

As I plod through the inconsequential

trying to reach that which truly matters

I quote Alice to myself-
frequently:

Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
Alice: How do you know I'm mad?
The Cat: You must be. Or you wouldn't have come here.

That is a real possibility
and that's poetiquejustis
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12

Shop Talk

One may walk over the highest mountain
one step at a time
John Wanamaker

John Wanamaker bought an abandoned railway station
and built a department store
When no one really knew what a department store was
He found a mountain and climbed it
One step at a time
Andrew Carnegie started as a poor immigrant
who operated the telegraph
He turned his dreams in to steel
and his fortune in to libraries for the country
He climbed his mountain
one step at a time

You may not have found your mountain yet
But that does not mean you cannot take a step
and then another
and then another
and before your know it
You will have reached the the other side of a mountain
that you did not even know was there
and you did it-
one step at a time.
And that's poetiquejustis

"Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them."
Mark 11:23

Tune Up

To kindle the flame
of being fully alive
Jon-Kabat-Zinn
There is a place in the world for  auto-pilot
But your life is not that place
There are times when following the crowd
cannot be avoided
But do avoid it when you can!
And if life has turned in to one long

Then it is time to get out there and find
and give the world
your song
and that's poetiquejustis
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.
They are plans for good and not for evil,
to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

Weather or Not

Life...it tends to respond to our outlook,
to shape itself to meet our expectations.
Richard M DeVos
Your life is your open book to which you are daily adding  the pages

The stitches you place upon the fabric of your life
that passes through your hands every day.
You are the memories that you carry
                                                                     and the memories you make
It is all in how you see it
                                                                    and that's poetiquejustis

May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,
O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
                                                         Psalm 19:14

In All Realtiy

Once you become real, you cannot become unreal.
It lasts for always.
Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit

It's not easy being real

When you are real you get bumped and bruised and  bothered

You get lost and found and mystified

Ah, but once you are real, there is no turning back!

Because as George Bernard Shaw said

"Life is not about finding yourself
Life is about creating yourself"
So, you may as well keep it real
and that's poetiquejustis

Not that I have already obtained all this,
or have already been made perfect,
but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me
Philippians 3:12

The Inquiring Mind

The questions are more important
than the answers
Randy Pausche

Our questions speak volumes
about who we are

The answers only speak volumes
about what others know

Our questions guide out path

Design our day

Open our minds

Before you start looking for anwers
Make sure you are asking the right questions
 That's the answer
and that's poetiquejustis
But the people of Berea (who asked questions) were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica (who did not), and gladly listened to the message. They searched the Scriptures day by day to check up on the apostle Paul and Silas’ statements to see if they were really so.
Acts 17:11
