Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Exceedingly Abundantly

Not what we have but what we enjoy constitutes our abundance
Epicurus
A box
a crayon and a piece of paper
a ball of clay
a hill to roll down
Remember when those things made you feel as though you owned the world
And there was abundance in the smallest thing and joy to be had in the smallest act?
Today, I am going to remember to enjoy what I have
before I go looking for more
and that's poetiquejustis
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart,
Luke 6:45

What's left?

It is not the leftovers that are wasteful-
it is the people who do not know what to do with them
or cannot be bothered.
Julian Baggini
What have you got left over at the end of your day?
A cup more energy?
A crumb or two more of a smile?
A tablespoon of  curiosity?
Whip up a bit more life!
Throw  what you have left on the fire!

Then invite someone to dine with you on the very joy of living!
After you do all the things in a day you have to do-
sometimes the "leftovers" you share
are the best part of the day!
and that's poetiquejustis
Do not forget to do good and to help one another, because these are the sacrifices that please God.

For this and so much more

I'll never have enough time to paint all the pictures I want to.
Norman Rockwell
 For the words of kindness
and our right to say them
I am thankful
For the words we pray
and our right to pray them
I am thankful
For the wrongs we have righted
The hope we have ignited
I am thankful
and that's poetiquejustis

And on a lighter note...

Tyger Tyger, burning bright
In the forests of the night...
William Blake

lighted candles
Tis the season to

Burn out

Burn it at both ends

flicker and fade
or
Allow the season to illuminate your soul
You can choose
And that's poetiquejustis

Sound good?

"Silent gratitude isn't very much use to anyone." -Gertrude Stein

There is a lot of noise out there

Many opinions

Quite a bit of anger

None of that is good for our heads
And it is certainly not good for our hearts
You can drown it all out like this

or like this
or

and that's poetiquejustis

Rekindled

“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled
by a spark from another person.
  Albert Schweitzer

 When the days are dark

You can be a candle in the window

When the nights are long

You can be someone's dawn

When the clouds are shifting

You can be the rays of hope
Today, you have the chance to make someone grateful for a ray of hope
And that is something you can be grateful for as well
And that's poetiquejustis

Let your light so shine forth before others that your Father in heaven may be glorified.
Matthew 5:16

For what you have...

"Be grateful for what you have and stop complaining -
it bores everybody else, does you no good,
and doesn't solve any problems." Zig Ziglar

Just say: Thank you.

Thank you to those in your life who care

Thank you to those behind the scenes

Thank you to those who make so many sacrifices
Be grateful.
Be thankful.
Thoreau said:
"I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual."
And that's poetiquejustis

What are you carrying today?

You cannot take all luggage on all journeys
C S Lewis

Remember the days when you could fit all of your belongings

in the back of your car?

Somewhere along the line

things got a little more...complicated

For better or worse

Our thoughts, beliefs, and challenges grow in the same way.
They can overtake us

or move us forward

The important part is knowing what to take with you

and what to leave behind
And that's poetiquejustis

Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you out to preach the Good News and you did not have money, a traveler’s bag, or an extra pair of sandals, did you need anything?” “No,” they replied.
Luke 22:35
