Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Gently now...

Take the gentle path
George Herbert
You can blast your way through life
You can tread all underfoot
You can mow down  all that is in your way
But then be ready
to build your life on the rubble
Today- by all means, go forward
Gently now
You will still get where you want to go
And it will be a much nicer place to live
when you get there
and that's poetiquejustis
Let your gentleness be known to all
Philippians 4:5

Look To Your Heart

The Golden Rule is a two-edged sword.
If some of us treated others as we treat ourselves
we would be jailed.
Richard Paul Evans

Kindness begins at home
in your heart
You cannot know how to talk to others
If you do not know how to speak
to yourself
You do not know how to appreciate others
If you do now know how to appreciate yourself
You cannot get a meal from an empty cupboard
and you cannot get compassion
from an empty heart
Fill up your heart with self- kindness
so you have enough to share.
Until you are good to you
you will have no idea
how to be good
to others
Practice!
and that's poetiquejustis

 Love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:39

Lose Something?

"Resolve and thou art free."
H W Longfellow

"I will"

I don't.

"I can"

I won't

"I believe..."

I'm not sure
You have not lost your talent
And you have not even lost your way.

You have just lost your resolve!
Find it and press on smartly!
and that's poetiquejustis
When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he encouraged all of them to remain true to the Lord with a firm resolve of the heart-
Acts 11:23

Getting from there to here

And a mess is still a moment
I can seize until I know
that all will be well
Gabe Dixon

Righting the ship

Getting back on track

Leveling out

There are days you are a hero just because you kept going.
That is the journey
and that's poetiquejustis
“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

Grateful for the ho-hum

Someone is boring me. I think it is me.
Dylan Thomas

There are days I look at my life and say "ho-hum'.

To quote the writing team of Fox and Gimbel "my life goes along as it should"...
Like the cozy house I have with all the requisite hot and cold amenities
that I take for granted
Until I looked at the numbers:

1.1 billion people do not have access to electricity

1.6 billion people lack adequate housing

35% of the world's population does not have fresh water

6.3 million people are refugees

Maybe my life is more unique than I realize!

After I say "Thank You!"
I hope I say
"How can I help others be blessed with a ho-hum life?"
and that's poetiquejustis
If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God’s love? It disappears. And you made it disappear.
I John 3:17

Listen to Your Melody

What we play is life.
Louis Armstrong

The Blues

The Rock

The harmony

The Solo

Listen to the music of life

then learn to play it well

Because it was a melody written just for you
and that's poetiquejustis
Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other.
Colossians 3:15

Something to Share

Find out how much has been given you
and take what you need;
the remainder is needed by others.
Augustine

Sharing

Taking and giving

Saving and passing along

Knowing what you need- and what you need to share

That is a cornerstone of humanity
and that's poetiquejustis
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Hebrews 13:16

Get the Picture?

For an artist, withdrawal is necessary.
Julia Cameron

You are the artist of your life

Every day, you are creating your world

Bringing your gifts to the picture of life
And to do that well means having to slip away once in a while
To see things from your own perspective
Mary Sarton said:
Loneliness is the poverty of self;

solitude is the richness of self.

With the crowd dispersed, Jesus climbed the mountain so he could be by himself and pray.
He stayed there alone, late into the night.
Matthew 14:23
