Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

The Number of Days

How we spend our days
is of course how we spend our lives
Annie Dillard

                                                                         Time is a gift

Not to be spent on the  trivial and the contrived
Those meaningless projects whose only purpose is self-perpetuation.

The inconsequential

that never reaches for that which truly matters

To quote Alice:

Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
Alice: How do you know I'm mad?
The Cat: You must be. Or you wouldn't have come here.

That is a real possibility
and that's poetiquejustis
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12

Fancy That!

To give reason for fancy were to weigh the fire, and measure the wind.
John Lyly

The phrase "to fancy" entered our vocabulary in the middle 15th century deriving from the Middle English word "fantasie', borrowed from the old french fantasie and before that the Latin phantasia meaning imagination

What do you fancy?
What makes your eyes shine
And your heart sing
Your soul soar?
When you are window shopping in life
what do you fancy?

What makes you leap in to the day
And keep moving forward?

What do you fancy?
I hope the list is very long because those are the places
where you touch the heart of life
  And it touches you
and that's poetiquejustis
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good...
Luke 6:45

Let The Pie Fly

Bread cast upon the waters is much more nourishing and wholesome
than pie in the sky
Melvin Jones.
Maybe...but what if you give that pie a chance to fly?
Dreaming big dreams!
Making even bigger plans!

Taking even BIGGER action

Because no idea is half baked if you put enough YOU in to the recipe.
Then, throw that pie up in to the sky
And give it some wings!
and that's poetiquejustis
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1

Sound Off!

The human race has only one real effective weapon

and that is laughter.

Mark Twain

The sound of rain on the roof while you sit before a fire

The sound of someone cooking in the kitchen
when you know the meal is for you

The sound of birds when Spring has finally returned

The sound of children's voices raised in song

The sound of truth when it falls upon your ears
and tears away the lies.

When there seems to be nothing but noise and clambering
coming at you from every direction

These are the sounds that you must hold inside your heart...
and never forget
                                                  the laughter

And that's poetiquejustis

Worry weighs us down;
a cheerful word picks us up.
Proverbs 12:25

Through It All

One small crack does not mean you are broken-

it means you were put to the test and did not fall apart.

Linda Pointdexter

I am a junk store junky

I like to rescue things

The lone cup

The overly-loved bear

The book perhaps only the author read

They were all someone's creative dream

Perhaps I believe that by giving them a home

I can celebrate that they- and I- have made it through it all.

And that's poetiquejustis

Baby, It's Cold Outside

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that there was in me
 an invincible summer
Albert Camus

When we are surrounded by darkness

we learn to appreciate the light

When we are utterly alone
We may long for the friendships we let slip away

And it is in our travels that we turn our heart towards home

   Author Barbara DeAngelis said:
"Difficult times always create opportunities
for you to experience more love in your life"
In the wintry days of the soul
Look for the love...look to the light....
and you find your own invincible summer
and that's poetiquejustis

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Lightly

Love must be a light
as much as it is a flame
Thoreau
Love should see us through the dark times
It must be a light
Love should fuel our dreams
It must be a flame
In the words of Edna St Vincent Millay:
My candle burns at both end
It will not last the night;
but ah, my foes
and ah my friends
It gives a lovely light
and that's poetiquejustis
Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

The Finer Seed

I ask not for a larger garden but for finer seeds.
Russell Herman Cornwell

A patch of life

Filled with grace

And humor

And love

Is worth far more than an acre

if it brings forth joy
and that's poetiquejustis
Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce.
Jeremiah 29:5
