Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Hitting the Heights

What we hope ever to do with ease
We must learn first to do with diligence
Samuel Johnson

As you work toward a goal
You are going to take some spills

You are going to take some tumbles

You may bruise your pride

And even lose some momentum

But just get back up there!

It takes more than a tumble or two to stop you, right?
Your dreams are worth a few bruises!
                                                          Keep getting back up
                                                           and one of these days

it is all going to fly
                                                            and that's poetiquejustis

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
                                                                Romans 12:12

What we hope ever to do with ease, we must learn first to do with diligence.

Found: One Day

Either you run the day or the day runs you
Jim Rohn

We have heard it and we have said it:

"Where did the day go?"
Well, let's see....

Is it hiding under that list of things to do that never got done?

Perhaps it is hiding in plain sight
 hoping you will find it?

Or is the day hiding among the distractions, the "urgent" and the impossible
that you have placed in its path?

If you lose track of today
Perhaps it is not Today hiding from you
                                                          But you are avoiding today

                                                    You made Today many promises
                                                                        Keep them

You may not know how to find your
                                                                          "Tomorrows"
Discover today!
and that's poetiquejustis

So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
                                                                  Psalm 90:12

A Wild Idea

Don't let them tame you!
Isadora Duncan

You can be
Sociable

Civilized

Flexible

Likeable

That does not mean

Faceless

or

Faded
That would not be you!
and you were meant to be you!
 in all your wild glory!
And that's poetiquejustis

The LORD your God is with you. He is a hero who saves you. He happily rejoices over you, renews you with his love, and celebrates over you with shouts of joy.
Zephaniah 3:17

Leaving a Life of Grudgery

“To be wronged is nothing, unless you continue to remember it.”
Confucius

Carrying a grudge

Holding on to a hurt

Embracing your ego

Hanging on to the past

Sure doesn't leave you much wingspan
Let go

move on

take off
Carrying a grudge is only going to weigh you down

and that's poetiquejustis
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Matthew 6:12

Your Wheel of Fortune

If the wind will not serve, take to the oars
Latin Proverb

"Don't reinvent the wheel"

Sound advice....unless a wheel is not the answer
for you

"We have always done it this way"

Makes sense- until it no longer makes any sense
for you

"This has always worked"

Excellent- until it does not work anymore
for you

This is your project
 Your life
 Your goal

No one ever made the wheel that worked for you
Because no one has ever  made your journey

Go ahead- invent your own wheel
and sail on
And that's poetiquejustis

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

Hero of the Heights

If suffer we must
let us suffer on the heights
Victor Hugo

If we find ourselves alone today
may it be because

We showed too much mercy

We offered too much grace

We had too little fear of tomorrow

We dreamed too many dreams today

Antoine De Saint-Exupery said:
What worth are convictions that bring not suffering?

So if we must suffer,
let us suffer from heights
and that's poetiquejustis
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.
"Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened."
1 Peter 3:14

Critiquing the Critique

There is only one way to avoid criticism:
do nothing, say nothing,
and be nothing.
–Aristotle

Critics:

Those who tell you how you can  do it better

Why you should  not do it at all

Why it cannot be done

They have a vocabulary that starts with "but"

and ends with "what if"

Doers:

Ignore the critics

And get it done

Maggie Stiefvater said:
"In the end, you have to write like you are not afraid of the critics"

To get things accomplished,
you have to live that way as well.
and that's poetiquejustis

Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.
Proverbs 29:25
