Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Your Starting Line

All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast
John Gunther

It used to be this

Or at the very least this

Now it is this

Or this

Or this

You may not have a lot of choices in your work day

But you sure should be able to make a good choice
about where it begins

Carve out a few moments of peace
to start your day

It is the first step in being in control of your life
and that's poetiquejustis

.....but in the morning there is joy.
Psalm 30:5

Snap

It is never too late to be what you might have been
George Eliot

Pick up your feet

Pick up your heart

lift up your eyes

Reach for the stars

Stop sitting around

Wishing things were just great

Snap out of it

- get moving
It is never too late

and that's poetiquejustis
Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19

Today is the day!

There is no shortage of good days
Annie Dillard

"Bon jour!"

"Have a

"Enjoy your day!"

"Buenos dias! "

If you are going to say it-
Believe it!

And have yourself one!

I mean....
Why waste a perfectly good day?
and that's poetiquejustis

This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
118:24

What do you want?

Turning away from the world
 and toward your own happiness
is the path to authenticity
Sarah Ban Breathnach

I get tired of being told what to think

What to buy

What to wear

Don't you?

What would happen if we all just decided to be who we are?

If we turned off all of the noise going on in our heads

and listen to our own voice

that would be awfully nice
you could be you
and I could be me
and we could be we

I know I would like you
remember

and that's poetiquejustis

Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from Him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.
1 John 2:15-17

Pitcher This

The pitcher cries for water to carry
and a person for work that is real
Marge Piercy

The trivial

The trite

The meaningless

The repetitive

The placing of numbers within columns

Words upon pages

Papers within files

Does it all mean anything?

Of course it does

Because when you bring yourself to the task

It becomes art

                                                                     And then
                                                                the pitcher is full

And that's poetiquejustis
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.
                                                                Colossians 3:23

Within Arms Reach

I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels
Maya Angelou

There are a lot of young women like that in my life

Daughters, and nieces and grand- nieces
cousins and friends

And from what I have seen so far,

My granddaughters will be the same-and then some

But the thing about these women is

That when they grab the world by the lapel

They look the world straight in the eye and say

"How can I help"
That's my girls
And that's poetiquejustis
She reaches out to the needy; she stretches out her hands to the poor.
Proverbs 31:20

That Rapier Wit!

Wit is a weapon
Frank Muir

To grin at the failures

And smile through the next attempt

To chuckle at the let downs

And wink at the passing parade

To laugh yourself silly over the things you wanted
or thought you wanted...

To be witty when the words would otherwise fail you

That is the weapon of wit
and that is poetiquejustis
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting.
 Job 8:21
