I read a line in a Dick Francis book that stuck with me

"All around her was an island of peace."

What does the "island" around you look like?

Is it cluttered with the fruit of bitterness?

or the fruit of love and kindness for the picking?

Is it litetred with angry thoughts and memories?

or have you captured the glow of  joy?

Has your soul become overgrown with fear and suspicion?

or is it a place of order and calm?

What messages are you sending from the island of your life?

 

When people sail near, 

do they fear the rocky shores 

or are they grateful for the safe haven?

It is your island

Make it a peaceful place to dwell  and visit

a place of comfort for yourself and others  

The world really could use that right now

 and that's poetiquejustis

A dash of enthusiasm

A sprinkle of optimism

A whole lot of whatever good stuff it takes

Put it Off

Shake yourself awake

The Glaring Truth

Let light shine from your heart

And you give the world a place to warm their souls

Let light shine from your eyes

And the path ahead becomes clear

But if what shines forth is a torch

meant to blind others 

then how can  the bearer of that torch

ever see truth

or spread peace?

That is the question

Just A Little Bit
