Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Fix It

Our fatigue is caused often not by work
but by worry, frustration, and resentment
Dale Carnegie
I hear the word "frustrated" a lot
It could be because I'm a professor
and my students are all juggling
work and school and home
at least...
I think it is coming out of my students' mouth
 but it could be mine
I hear it so often
that I did some research
Did you know that frustrate comes from the Latin word for disappointment?
So the next time you are frustrated
Take the time to figure out what's disappointing you
                                                                     and fix it
I mean- who needs the frustration?
and that's poetiquejustis
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me

Rise

The desire to fly is an idea handed down to us by our ancestors who... looked enviously on the birds soaring freely through space... on the infinite highway of the air.
Wilbur Wright

Rising above the crowd can be a lonely business

It may mean taking to the sky alone

But perhaps you will help others to follow

It may mean you will hit some wind and rain
But you will also reach the rainbow first
So what if you take a dive once in the while
It beats sitting on the fence
You can hang around and talk about it

Or you can soar

Your wings....
Your sky....
Your choice
And that's poetiquejustis

CHOICES

The talent is in the choices
Robert De Niro
Life is going to hand you a script ever day
Read it...think about it
But before the curtain goes up
Make your
choices-
Understudy

 or star?
Director
or Go -fer?
It is your life
There are no wrong choices in what role you play
Except the choice
to let others choose

and that's poetiquejustis
Choose life....

What is past

When the weight of the past has you lashed to the mast...
Spencer Day
How did the past get such a grip that it crushed your here and now?
Was it a faceless voice speaking in your ear
In the late watches of the night?
Did a sight, a sound, an image push you back and down and tumbling into the past-
a place you no longer belong?
Find your way back
For the present does not wait for anyone,
and YOU  have much to do!
and you are free to do it
and that's poetiquejustis

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles
Hebrews 12:1

Bring It

What we learn from the experience depends on the philosophy
 we bring to the experience
C S Lewis
What do your "ah ha!" moments look like?

  "Ah HA!"
Ah  :-) ha!
 ah -haaaaa....
aaa-haa
I get it!
Ah ha....It is all in how you choose to see the moment!
and that's poetiquejustis
"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart"
Psalm 37:4

It Comes in Waves

What is coming will come
and we will meet it when it does
J K Rowling
Goblet of Fire
Taking a chance
Taking it on
 fighting back
 owning it
Knowing the risk
Bringing it home

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Let's Talk About It

"All I need is a sheet of paper and something to write with, and then I can turn the world upside down." -Friedrich Nietzsche

Inner dialogue:
Self:
"I really think I just had a great idea!"
Self-response:
"Yea but,..."
End of conversation

Inner dialogue
Self:
"I really think I just had a great idea!"
Self response
"Go for it!"
Now you're talking!

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock, and my Redeemer.
Psalm 19:14
