Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Twenty-Seconds

Faith is love taking the form of aspirations.
W E Channing

Aspire....to breathe life in to something

Do you have the breath left in you

To aspire to one more thing?

To fill a dream with hope and a hope with faith and with love?
Can you aspire to one more thing- knowing that to aspire and not achieve
is far better than to never aspire again?

Of course you can!
In the  words of Benjamin Mee:

“You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it."
 and that's poetiquejustis
...because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

                                James 1:3

Drop Off the Doubt

A mind troubled by doubt cannot focus on the course to victory.
Arthur Golden

I know a catering chef  who tells his helpers as they carry trays to the truck;

"Carry one
Or drop two

The same goes for trying to carry around doubt and belief at the same time

One of those guys-
the doubt or the belief-
 has to go.

Carry one or drop two.

and that's poetiquejustis
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,
because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
 James 1:6

What's The Sense

My greatest strength is common sense.
Katherine Hepburn

Sense
it is not so common -

and wanting some is

Sensible

Sense....sensible....sensational!

but unless, when it comes to others, we are wise enough
to be sensitive

Then what is the sense?
and that's poetiquejustis

Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk.
Be gentle with one another, sensitive.
Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32

Tearing Up

Tears at times have the weight of speech
Ovid

Tears of joy

Tears of anger

Tears of pain

Tears of frustration

How well we express ourselves

When we speak without a word
And that's poetiquejustis
You’ve kept track of my every toss and through the sleepless nights,
Each tear entered in your ledger each ache written in your book.
Psalm 56:8

What Do You Know?

We learn nothing from the things we know
John Cage

We learn even less from the things we think we know

And even less from those things we refuse to know

How do you know what you need to know
when you do not have the vaguest idea of what you do not know?

What we know should only be a guide
Not a destination
That is wisdom
and that's poetiquejustis
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
2 Peter 1:5-7

Note to Self

Let us not look back in anger
nor forward in fear but around us in awareness
James Thurber

It is not what you left behind

Or even what is ahead

It is who is beside you

It is the passion within you

That needs your attention.

Whatever the price
Pay attention

The cost is too high if you do not

and the dividends are great if you do

and that's poetiquejustis

I will stand at my watch and station my myself on the ramparts
Habakkuk 2:1

See Change

Observation cannot commence until something exists.
Abraham Kuyper

 Do you want to see...

A better world

A kinder world

A more tolerant world

A world where there is no hunger

A world where there is no despair

Want to see it happen?

Do something

For someone
Today.

And that's poetiquejustis

And if you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

James 2:16
