Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Knowing What You Know

As knowledge increases, wonder deepens
Charles Morgan
Every day -  an adventure in learning
Every moment - a chance to let go of what you thought you knew
And making friends with what you are about to know
Adding color and light to your world with wonders that were always there
Just hidden in the shadow of  things you have piled up from the past
Let in some light
Learn something new today
That is what makes life wonderful
And that's poetiquejustis
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge
Proverbs 18:15

Sands of the Sea

I can well understand why children love sand.
Wilhelm Wittgenstein
It is the first thing in life to slip between your fingers
And the first castle you ever own
It stretches out before you beckoning you to follow
And then begs you to stretch out  and soak up its warmth
The poet Blake suggested that within its walls we can find a universe

And we know that within it we find the span of time

Today, promise to take life by the handful
and let none of it slip away
and that's poetiquejustis

"For You said, ' I will surely prosper you and make your descendants as the sand of the sea,
which is too great to be numbered.'"

Genesis 32:12

Life is a Lovely Place to Live

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
J L Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
―
  Our other life

The one that we live within our dreams

Tucked away in a quiet universe where no one else can enter

What a lovely place

To visit

But if you do not return to the here and now

At least upon occasion

That life you long for
will only stay
 within your dreams

And that's poetiquejustis

This is why it is said,
"Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light."
Ephesians 5:14

Look for a Miracle

Out of difficulties grow miracles
Jean de la Breyere
The soil may be dry and rocky
The light may be wrong
And the the weeds may be growing all around you
They can try to freeze you out
And they may even trample you under foot
But they cannot keep you from growing
If that is what you want to do
And that's Poetiquejustis

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39

There for the asking

A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows
Francis of Assisi

A silent prayer

A cheerful thought

A pleasant memory or two

A whimsical plan

A moment of gratitude

All sunbeams in your day

And all there for the asking
and that's poetiquejustis
A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.
Proverbs 17:22

Fill Your Cup

Wealth is the ability to fully experience life
Thoreau

Too small a sip and

and life will not satisfy

Too large a gulp
and life becomes too hard to swallow

Too bitter the brew
and you may lose your taste for living

Each day
Fill your own cup
That's your job
And that's poetiquejustis

Fear of the Lord is a life-giving fountain
Proverbs 14:27

Out of the Ordinary

A person can stand anything
except a succession of ordinary days
Goethe

I am not a big fan of the ordinary

I prefer houses that have some style

Clothes that make me feel like Diane Keaton

and food that speaks of faraway places
I was looking at some flowers today
noticing how unique they were
                                                                      even in a crowd

Lou Holtz was right when he said:
"I cannot believe God put us
on earth to be ordinary"
That is what I also believe
and that's poetiquejustis
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139
