Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Peace

"First find the peace within; then give it away."
 ~ Elsa Joy Bailey

con·flict: to come into collision or disagreement;

be contradictory, at variance, or in opposition; clash

Global conflicts

People conflicts

 Conflicting opinions

Conflicting interests

All of these are nothing compared to a conflicted YOU

Peace must grow

 from within

Or it does not begin at all

Go.
Find peace within yourself
and then give it away-
Like starter for sourdough bread-
Just give someone a bit of their own
and both of you will be fed

and that's poetiquejustis
2 Corinthians 13:11  Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

The Bells Are Ringing

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light...
Alfred Lord Tennyson

"There are the bells, Mom, I have to get to work...
talk to you tomorrow."
Our son and his wife live in a lovely seaside town whose life is regulated by the Church bells in the heart of the village. Each day at nine am the town puts down their cups at the local coffee house
and heads in to their day.
Bells....
How like people bells can be....

They are some that are deep and sonorous, and yet never seem to intrude

There are those who only seem to ring out their joy sparingly

And others whose love of life rings across the fields

There are those who seem to have a pompous ring
and those that are just rather alarming

Oscar Hammerstein II said:

A bell's not a bell 'til you ring it,

A song's not a song 'til you sing it,
Love in your heart wasn't put there to stay,

Love isn't love until you give it away

and that's poetiquejustis

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.
I Corinthians 13:1

Get It Done

You must do the thing you think you cannot do
Eleanor Roosevelt
March...and the New Year's resolutions
are gone with the wind
Good riddance, I say
Who needs resolutions?
What I need is resolve
One little thing
One tiny little thing that I resolve to do
one step at a time

Resolutely
and that's poetiquejustis
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

It Is Almost Once Upon A Time

Some day, you will be old enough to read fairy tales again.
C S Lewis to his Granddaughter when he wrote The Chronicles of Narnia
The day we turn on back  on just believing
is the day that we grow old
The day we stop reaching for the impossible
is when our hearts grow cold
May today bring you all the promises that you readily receive
May today be the first of many when you once again believe.
and that's poetiquejustis
I have come into the world as a light,
so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
John 12:46

Today Could Be Grand!

“How did it get so late so soon?”
Dr Seuss
The walks you were going to take
The books you were going to read
The trips you were going to make
The sights you were going to see
Did time slip from your grasp one day
Like waves that leave the shore?
Stop fretting!
Get moving!
Grab time by the hand
                                      Because today is TODAY
                                     and TODAY could be grand!
and that's poetiquejustis
Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love;
break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.
Hosea 10:12

That which brings peace

The time of the singing bird is come
Song of Solomon
It is time
Change is coming
New things are happening
Be a part of the good things
the kind things
the noble things
that which brings peace
and leave the rest behind
and that's poetiquejustis

For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun!

Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19

No More Hanging Around

A cocoon is effective only as a means of change
Kathleen Norris, From Acedia and Me
I used to have a little friend (now a grown up attorney!)
who would cross her baby arms and say
"no looka me, no talka me. no toucha me!"
The kid knew how to cocoon!
Hiding away from the world has its time
 And it has its place
But when we are once again ready to face life

                                                                  We should step out big!
We should emerge!
Refreshed and full of vibrancy
 Otherwise...we were just hanging around!
and that's poetiquejustis
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
