The Here and Now

I am about to sing the song for the future

Stephanie Mills

I am taking a deep breath

I am looking the sun squarely in the eye

I am raising my hand in salute to all that is before me

I am bowing my head  for all that is behind me

And now...

I will sing

For my heart shall not forget the melody

of what is meant to be
What will be
What must be

But I know that it lives in the here and now

and that's poetiquejustis

Know also that wisdom is like honey for you:
If you find it, there is a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off.
Proverbs 14:14

To Beginning

With the possible exception of the equator, everything begins somewhere,

C S Lewis

Thoughts begin somewhere and move on

Love begins somewhere and grows

Dreams begin somewhere and become real

Now you must begin somewhere and be who you are

and that's poetiquejustis

I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me. They replied, "Let us start rebuilding." So they began this good work.

Nehemiah 2:18

Living a la carte

A mind troubled by doubt cannot focus on the course to victory.

Arthur Golden

I know a catering chef  who tells his helpers as they carry trays to the truck;

"Carry one

Or drop two

The same goes for trying to carry around doubt and belief at the same time

One of those guys-

the doubt or the belief-

 has to go.

Carry one or drop two.

and that's poetiquejustis

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,

because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

 James 1:6

Mindless Ventures

An hour's industry will do more to produce cheerfulness,

suppress evil humors

and retrieve your affairs

than a month's moaning.

Ben Franklin

Cluttered closets

Junk drawers

Files in disarray

Garages that have fallen victim to the second law of thermodynamics

What a blessing!

These are mindless ventures where you can dive in and see immediate results

Suddenly, you are once again master of your destiny

Captain of your soul

Now- you are ready to take on the world!

Georgia O'Keeffe said in a biography that she could not paint until her drawers were organized

I get that- don't you?

and that's poetiquejustis

Let all things be done decently and in good order.

I Corinthians 14:40

As You Go

Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.
- Chinese Proverb

Move with intention

so that you may meditate on the moment

Move with ease so that life may impart its grace

Move and keep on moving

but do not feel the need to run

Give life the respect of a steady pace

and it will pay you back with the journey of a lifetime

and that's poetiquejustis
In quietness and confidence is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15

It's Possible

Knowledge of what is possible is the beginning of happiness

George Santayana

I believe in you

I believe in what you can do

I believe in your dreams

In your schmemes

In your plans

and in your visions

But I cannot believe alone!

Believe along with me

and watch the happiness begin!

and that's poetiquejustis

“With man this is impossible, but with God
                                                            all things are possible.
                                                                        Matthew 19:26

Live Already!

Man is born to live

not to prepare for life

Boris Pasternak

Planning to plan your plans

Lists of things you will start tomorrow

or Monday

or Someday

Organizing

Preparing

Until...what?

 Exactly...

Would you say it was time to start living?

I would

and that's poetiquejustis

He who observes the wind will not sow,

and he who regards the clouds will not reap.

Ecclesiastes 11:4
