When our granddaughter was 8 years old
she talked to us about the "background people"
and how we need to think about them
and how we need to think about them
You know- background people
Those people who serve
Who get things done
who makes things nice
Who make our lives possible
I am glad her heart sees the people so many of us count as invisible.
Today, I will hear the words she spoke
And see with my heart
and say hello to
the background people
and that's poetiquejustis
But in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
