This Garden of Mine

 

In search of my mother's garden, I found my own

I could never hope to understand 

how my mother's life garden grew

 

Thanks to her, my advantages and worldview

came from a girl born in Brooklyn- the child of immigrants

who traded their island lemon orchards 

for rooftop gardens

Eventually, I needed to search for a garden of my own

A garden of thoughts

A garden of hopes

A garden of dreams

A garden of happily ever afters

And a garden of  things that were more wonderful

than I could believe

A garden  of my own

Planted with seeds from those who went before

To leave to those who will follow

 That is how a garden grows from generation to generation

Two for the Road

I don't want to be a passenger in my own life

I do not want to hear life through others ears

I do not want to feel life through another

I do not want to cry others tears

I want to feel life in my own way

Though I  may choose to share it with you

I want to pedal along in this journey of mine

But there is always room for two

Getting A Sense of Living

My greatest strength is common sense

and we all would like to have some

Sensible

it is not always easy to be..and we all would like to be
Sense....sensible....sensational!

but unless, when it comes to others, we are wise enough
to be sensitive

Then what is the sense?
