Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Principled

The strongest principle of growth lies in human choice
George Eliot
To grow
When you choose to grow
is it to grow in power?
or simply in wealth?
or only to gain  knowledge?
Or will you choose the better
The real
The lasting
 and grow in your humanity
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr earned the right to say:
An individual has not started living until he can rise above
the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns
to the broader concerns of all humanity.
You may not be able to reach out to millions today
But you can reach the person next door
or in the next office
That is being human
and that's poetiquejustis
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2

The Many Roads

If the path be beautiful let us not ask where it leads
Anatole France

And if the road gets long and steep

Let us know we will be stronger at the end

If the dreams do not come true

Let us be grateful that we can dream again

In fact, let us just be grateful

For life
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.
Psalm 31:24

Why Should I Not?

Why should I not sit, every morning of my life,
on a hillside looking in to a shining world?
Mary Oliver

Today, I choose to see only the good

I choose only to hear the joyful

I choose only to speak of peace

I choose to create a shining world that I will look in to

From there I will reach out to those who sit in the darkness

And I will bring light

and not let the darkness prevail

and that's poetiquejustis

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a lampstand, and it gives light to everyone in the house
Matthew 5:14

Designing People

The soul without imagination
is like an observatory without a telescope
Henry Ward Beecher
You cannot grow when your world
is inside the four walls of your mind
Look up
Beyond yourself
Look out
And embrace the new and the wondrous

Because the wonder of it all is

That.when you  have looked beyond yourself

You can help others see the their wonders as well
-and suddenly-
-Without even realizing it-
You  have become
Who you  really are
 That is wondrous!
and that's poetiquejustis

But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?
1 John 3:17

Here's the Trick

Youth is a circumstance you  cannot do anything about
The trick is to grow up without growing old
Frank Lloyd Wright
It really is not much of a trick, actually
All it takes is a sense of humor
Seeing life as the wonder it is
And knowing that every day of living still holds
fantastic joy and surprises
if you are only willing to say the magic words
"Abbracadabra.....I love life!"
 and that's poetiquejustis

Always be joyful.
I Thessalonians 5:16

You've Got This!

You have dreams in your heart
And the sun in the sky
You can do anything
If you give it a try
It may not come out looking the way you hand planned
But life has much more magic
When it's done on demand!
and that's poetiquejustis
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way;
Psalm 37:23

Focus

He did each thing as if he did nothing else
spoken of Charles Dickens
When did we become so enamored with mulitasking?
when did it become a virtue
not to be able to focus on one thing at a time?
We talk about the importance of living in the moment
but then we stuff the moment until it is about to burst
 one moment at a time
one thought at a time
one blessing at a time

that is the rhythm   that is the music
and that is poetiquejustis

And the world is passing away along with its desires,
but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 2:17
