Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Life is never seamless

Life is almost never seamless
You put the pieces together,
and you do it one forward motion at a time

Of course, there are some days when you have to start all over
But that certainly is better than leaving life undone
And that's poetiquejustis

Mistakes are acceptable if they're the result of moving forward.

Whose Garden Is This?

We all search for someone else's garden
until we discover we have to plant our own.
A. Stoddard

The grass seems greener

The flowers seem brighter

The trees seem shadier

In other people's lives

But when we take the time

To nurture what we have

We see the hidden beauties in our life
are only waiting for us to bloom first.
And that's poetiquejustis

You set me up with a house and yard.
And then you made me your heir!
Psalm 16:6

Let's Finish This

I chose to work on my work
Julia Cameron "The Sound of Paper"

There many voices that call out for our time

And a hundred places for time to slip away and hide

Headlines to dive in to

Other people's lives to judge

Meanwhile...back in your life- what's being left undone?

"When a stranger come knocking, do you let him in?
Was there food on your table for that down and out friend?
Did you hide the shadows, or did you walk in the sun?
Do you regret the things left undone?"
Janiva Magness

So now finish doing it as well, so that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have.
2 Corinthians 8:11

The Fine Print of Life

Success is the sum of the details
Harry Firestone
The little things you remember
To say
To do
To be
To love
Those are the details
That tell the tale
Of you
That's quite a story!
and that's poetiquejustis
He who is faithful in the least, is also faithful in much
Luke 16:10

The Gathering

They whom truth and wisdom lead, can gather honey from a weed.

Gather: The act of collecting or bringing together

They whom truth and wisdom lead, can gather honey from a weed.

We always seem to be gathering something....
We are gathering your thoughts
Gathering our friends
Gathering...always gathering
Harlan Howard even said he was always collecting
emotions for future reference

We even gather our courage

Things just seem to have a tendency to gather
Even clouds do it
But now, what we gather most is information
                                                                - a lot of information!
Gathering is good
As long as you know why you are gathering whatever it is you are gathering
And what you are going to do with it once you have it
                                                            and that's poetiquejustis

" For where two or three have gathered together in My name,
I am there in their midst."
                                                                    Matthew 18:20

Simplicity Itself

Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact
William James
There are times when it is not easy to believe in life
It is not easy to go on
To know why
or how
or if
Yet
We struggle
We press on to the summit
We persevere through the darkness
We smile and we laugh and we sing  and we are human
Until once more the light breaks through and we remember that life after all
simply is
very much worth living
and living well
and that's poetiquejustis
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
John 1:5

The Row Ahead

Plunge boldly in to the thick of life
Goethe
I decided to take the plunge
and turn a small and neglected plot of earth
in to a garden
Today
it is now a place of whimsy and quiet
to have lunch on an autumn day
It just took a spade, some dirt, some energy
and some flowers
and the will to begin and finish!
So now....
Maybe it is time to look at some neglected
patches of life?
Who knows what will grow!
and that's poetiquejustis
And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden
Genesis 2:8
