Nobody got anywhere in the world by simply being content.
Louis L'Amour
I heard a pastor speaking yesterday about his falling for a time in to the trap of contentment
It took him a while to realize that what he thought was contentment
Was really compromise
There had been a time when he knew he had so much promise
Things he had promised to himself,
and the world
and God
Promises of what he would do with his life
He had been given the ability to keep his promise
And then...he compromised
and called it contentment
and the promise was no more
and called it contentment
and the promise was no more
He took that burning passion in his soul and used it simply to warm his hands
As he watched life passing by
And it took a great big shove from someone he loved
to get him back to fulfilling his promise
His promise had not left him
He had left his promise behind
I am happy to report
that he and his promise have now been reunited
I learned something from his story
By all means, be content with where you are
If where you are is where your promise says you should be.
PS It is never too late to reunite with your promise
and that's poetiquejustis
Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you
will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
