Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Hold Your Horses

A great wind is blowing, and that gives you either imagination
or a headache.
Catherine the Great

All the wind around these parts lately

have brought to my mind a childhood poem
by Robert Louis Stevenson

Whenever the moon and stars are set,
      Whenever the wind is high,

All night long in the dark and wet,
      A man goes riding by.

Late in the night when the fires are out,
Why does he gallop and gallop about?

Whenever the trees are crying aloud,
And ships are tossed at sea,

By, on the highway, low and loud,
By at the gallop goes he.

By at the gallop he goes, and then
By he comes back at the gallop again.

That “man that gallops and gallops about”-
Those thoughts that race across the highways of your mind
very late at night

The pillow will not shut them out
The blanket will not cover them

They are faceless, and haunting and running away with your imagination!

So go- grab the reins!

Own your thoughts and turn them in to dreams.

Put a face to them and give them a name.

 Toni Morrison said:
If you surrender to the wind, you can ride it.

And that’s poetiquejustis
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind
Romans 12:2
