Just some thoughts...

Every day, as I write Poetiquejustis, I pray it will be a blessing to someone.
Today, I hope it is you.

Wallpaper

My husband and I live in a community that could be an attraction at Disneyland

Beautiful lakes, ponds, trees, pools, and all.

And it takes a small army to keep it this way.

Groundskeepers and pool cleaners,

Koi pond specialists,

The guy who trudges rain or shine with his cart of cleaning equipment every morning to make sure my lobby (and the 6 others on the property) are pristine.

The maintenance men, and the guys who make sure the treadmills keep on treading.

The security guards, and of course, the gardeners who make carpets of color appear long before their floral predecessors have begun to even fade.

How easy it would be for all of these people to become the wallpaper of my life.

Seen, but not “seen”.

Yesterday, from my lofty perch of our second floor gym, I watched the man who sets up the pools every morning laboring to make sure that each pillow was puffed….each lounge chair was positioned well. Pillows he would not be using and chairs where he would not be sitting. He just did his job well and with care.

I also saw a guy walk right by him on his way to the gym without even a nod of the head-as if he was not even there.

Wallpaper.

What would have happened to both their days if a smile or a hello had passed between them?

If each had been "seen."

It is amazing, when you stop to chat or just say hello and you meet the person behind the wallpaper. Hardworking, friendly people with dreams and aspirations and a great life story,

So, go!

Peel back the wallpaper and watch it come alive

And that is poetiquejustis
